I'm seriously tempted to give you -1 karma for including "American" in a list of anyone's favorite cheeses.

there! an expanded list of choices. please feel free to change your vote.
my research revealed that there are 2,987,634.78 different varieties of cheese. i chose to limit the list to the  16 listed here. we can run future polls and have playoffs among the winners - sorta the bcs (bowl cheese series) of the hypnos forum.
(griff - please don't allow this poll to have an effect on my karma ratings!  :o   :'(   :-*    ::)    ???   :o

That made my day!

My favorite as a kid was alway gouda because it was only at Christmas time when someone would send it to us.

Lately - I've been loving brie...

coolness, john. but why did it make your day that griff was going to give me 1 karma? (btw - American is a fine cheese.)

Because when I think of American cheese I think of little squares of semi-nuclear looking orangish color that have a shelf life of several thousand years... :)

Although I admit - I'm really not a cheese fanatic.  :)

Truly, I pray that I'm not the only one who got the reference...

And let me speak on behalf of goats everywhere when I say that I am deeply disturbed that a nice chevre isn't on the list.

i don't have toe cheese on the list, either!

That basil-and-sage chevre looks REALLY good!

I take endive leafs, drizzle them with basil olive oil, crack some black pepper on them, and top them with goat cheese. Nice little appetizer, that.
