Title: Sirius XM Radio Direct Licensing Opportunity - advice please
Post by: petekelly on January 27, 2016, 11:48:36 AM
Greetings

I received an email regarding the above. It's not spam as I've replied to the feller who sent it from Sirius XM.
I have to confess I know next to nothing about SoundExchange royalties and the like (which this agreement seems to be about)
I asked the feller if it would cause problems with my stuff already being up on iTunes etc. via CD Baby and IODA, he said it wouldn't, but I didn't really understand what I would be agreeing to ? I imagine any royalties would be a pittance, but I don't want to sign anything that could cause problems down the line.

Anyone know more about Sirius XM and such things ?

Pete,

What is Sirius XM proposing?  They have been a pretty decent source of royalties through SoundExchange.

BTW, you should sign up for SoundExchange, if you haven't already.  That organization is not-for-profit.  You might have royalties there that they are holding in trust.

Well, I finally got everything sorted with SoundExchange and Musicreports. Be warned UK people, this was a very time consuming task ! Those US tax forms are a mystery and filling out spreadsheet with ISRC codes and the like for over twenty albums was quite a task too. Saying that, the people I dealt with were very patient with me nonetheless :)
