Title: Sigur Ros - Route 1
Post by: ffcal on July 27, 2016, 12:32:23 PM
For those who may have missed it, Sigur Ros recently streamed a 24-hour trip up Route 1 in Iceland with a generative ambient soundtrack based on material from its upcoming album. They've posted all 24 hours on YouTube.  Here's the last 6-1/2 hours:

I started at the beginning tonight.  OMG I love riding in the front of big buses and the landscape is other worldly, oh and the music is great too. lets see how far I get.

Thanks for the heads up Forrest

I skipped around a bit to briefly sample it. There is some really cool stuff in there! (The first few minutes were annoying to my daughter though.) Thanks for the head's up!

Glad you enjoyed it, guys.  I think the music and visuals go together very well.  Takes my mind to a different place.

Now here is the thing.....still only an hour and half into it but it struck me, what time is it when this begins.  Lots of roundabouts in the middle of nowhere and no traffic.  Traffic lights and no cars.  Not familiar with the summer time in Iceland...I know its summer because the last part that forrest's posted people are wearing tee shirts, so.....does the sun set and if it does not is this the middle of what we call night.  ???  I think it is.

Im only about 4 hours into this.....put it up on the big screen tv and left it running.  Well seems the bus stopped for a food break and sleep.  Ok, trying not to fast forward. Night is what we call dusk.  Interesting people seem to know this bus is on the move as periodically fans await alongside the road
