Everything and Nothing / Re: Need Suggestions for Sound Table Music
« on: November 06, 2013, 09:14:56 PM »
I have had the table for about 10 years and purchased it here http://vibroacoustic.org/ from Stephen Duel. I have gone through thousands of tracks and gathered a library of tunes that work well. Sometimes I run low frequency swells along with music that wont really drive the table well.  I have not tried Koner, so I will give him a try and let you know. I thought there might be a bit more response here with fellow ambient heads. Thanks for any and all responses!

Everything and Nothing / Need Suggestions for Sound Table Music

I am looking for some suggestions for sound table music. The music that works best has a nice deep bass line. I like a smooth changing bass line, but I'll look at all suggestions. Rumbles are good too! Thanks!

Brian McBride - The Effective Disconnect
A Winged Victory for the Sullen - ST

Great drone-meets-chamber music albums.

This year marks Kranky's 20th anniversary. There is a nice article on the subject here:
http://www.chicagoreader.com/chicago/kranky-records-joel-leoschke-20th-implodes-camden-gutzeit-plotkin/Content?oid=10883767

Stars of the Lid and Loscil will be performing on Dec 15th as part of a four-night Kranky celebration in Chicago. I'm considering hitting that.

Does anyone have any info on this event?

Found it!  http://www.lincolnhallchicago.com/Shows/12-15-2013+Stars+Of+The+Lid

Thanks Dave....I just recently found out about Sarah through Acoustic Guitar magazines Essential Acoustic Albums of 2011.  http://www.acousticguitar.com/article/default.aspx?articleid=27891
She was on several of the lists there and she is a great young musician/songwriter.

Bill - The guy from SEB (Sleepbot Environmental Broadcast) mentioned the same thing about the Tron: Legacy soundtrack before the movie came out. I have given it several listens and have to agree. Great soundtrack!

Tonight at work I have been listening to more of the mixes over at  A Strangely Isolated Place. So much good stuff there!  :)

I seem to browse through this thread every so often looking for new musics. I saw some mention of 36 this time and wondered what it might be like. I found this 36 showcase mix @ http://astrangelyisolatedplace.wordpress.com/2011/03/13/36-showcase-mix/
Very nice listening, even with vacuum pumps running in the background. (I'm at work growing silicon crystals.)
Thanks to those that posted about 36. I like!!

There is also http://www.bluemars.org/ which has three streams to choose from. Beets, beetless and one with voices. Not the ones in my head though.
