Small Addition...

I worked with the Neumann´s in the past in several recording conditions too:

IMO they are overpriced for all "non-pop music", especially as we use in "our" genre anyway a lot of effects, reverb etc. From my experiences the Neumann´s are a touch more detailed and presence than the Rode but for me it wasn´t worth to spend so much money for it.

i own both and can recommend these 2 mics (both are matched pairs)

Rode has a more "open/detailed" sound while the Octava is extremely warm and round (but less detailed in the high end range, so might be a bit restricted if you plan to record other sources with a lot of high end frequencies in the future too). But for low and mid key instruments like Cello, Viola, Bowls and Voice it is hard to bet especially for this price! Though, not sure if you can get it in Canada or USA...

I do agree that the pictures and the music merges well - it was a very interesting experience for me too that finally (as a viewer) you won´t anymore separate pictures and music....imo it feels like "one" by complementing each other.

Maybe i´m alone with this opinion....never mind, but is this a "review"?

Lets be realistic...

- The writer mention who is behind the release
- Next he speaks very vaguely about the content and refers to some well know artists in this genre.
- Very soon we reach "All in all..." already

Sorry, but all of this could be also a text of a press release by the artist.

I´m just wondering, what is the value of something called "review" if it doesn´t go into depths or more detailed aspects? As an interested person for new/other music and/or artists, really, I can´t get much information out of this review.

For instance:

 "The ethereal and the atmospheric "shake hands" throughout the single tracks, evoking similar imaginary spheres and rich emotions as found on certain Robert Roach and Steve Roach releases"

More or less a standard phrase....i think some reviewers makes their life a bit too easy in today.

I wouldn´t be surprised at all if the old shipping prices was a result of subsidies by the state for economical reasons (increasing exports). So very likely those old prices wasn´t balanced in terms of expenses to run this business model in the long term.
