This is our debut album, a collection of songs written over the course of almost three years. As a result, there are many different styles, as we have moved through phases of studying different kinds of music and different compositional methods. We have experimented with world traditions, acousmatic sound, and many different instruments and synthesisers.

“One of our happy discoveries of 2012, Patterns in the Ivy make a glorious, sensuous noise. A mesmeric melange of yearning voice, delicate piano and carefully chosen samples, all performed with a seriousness and attention to detail that belies their youth. We like them a lot and expect to keep hearing more and more good things over the years to come.”

~Jonathan Raisin, Lost Voices

I just wanted to share this software with people who may not have heard of it. I was introduced to it by my Music Technology lecturer, as one of the standard sound editors on Macs, but then found out that there is also a Windows version and now use it for everything.

Pretty much anything is possible, and the best way to learn how to use this software is by experimenting. I have used it to make ambient pads out of short samples, to make complex multi-layered textures, and the reverb module is just fantastic.

Definitely worth a go for all electronic composers, especially for acousmatic music. Oh, and it's free.

Really enjoying 32: Vocal Motion right now, really beautiful music.  :'(

Do you allow submissions from artists?

An abundance of Sanskrit words!

Most of the music seems to be completely the opposite of what I was expecting after reading the blurbs and looking at the artwork.. some of it is great though.

Hi, my name is John and I'm new here.  :)

I would like to share some of my music- I work with my partner Yashashi, and we try to fuse trip hop and ambient with electroacoustic and world traditions. We have many influences, but our aim is really just to create immersive, atmospheric music.

We hope you enjoy the music.

I'm really enjoying this!

Drone music (if that's what you would call this) has never held my interest before, but I love your tracks- the texture is so complex and the sounds are really organic.
