Hi giorgio and mike,

Thanks for the compliment :)

The diatonis albums that come with a DVD is actually a hybrid disc...

meaning it contains both DVD-Video and DVD-Audio zones.

Hybrid discs will play in either player, normal DVD player or a DVD-Audio player.

The player will choose the zone to play.

The DVD-Audio zone doesn't play video because the bandwidth of the DVD is dedicated for audio: PCM usually at 96kHz / 24-bit depth compressed using a lossless MLP encoder.

The DVD-Video zone uses either PCM 48kHz/16-bits, Dolby Digital, or DTS and has video.

I think Robert Rich Somnium is, as mike mentioned, a DVD-Video disc.  The audio is PCM at 48kHz/16-bits.  There is no or very little video, a black image is a single frame of video repeated.   The entire disc could hold about 7 hours of music because there is no video.

pond is a mildly dark ambient album which uses real percussion, synths and guitar. The album consists of 8 songs of which 4 of them have music videos. Its comes with both an audio CDr and DVDr. The DVD is playable in both normal DVD players and DVD-Audio players.

You can hear samples of the songs here: pond previews

There are a couple of full length videos as well.

I have made my latest DVD-Audio album Diatonis - Dark Edges available free at archive.org:
http://www.archive.org/details/DIATONIS_DARK_EDGES_DVD-AUDIO_2GB_ISO3

You can hear MP3 samples here: http://www.diatonis.com/m3u/diatonis_dark_edges.m3u

This is a DVD-Audio album that plays at 96kHz/24-bit in 5.0 surround sound. The download i
s an ISO image which you can burn to a DVD-R and have it playback in your DVD-Audio player.
The simple menu is NTSC 4:3 but the album should automatically begin when you place itin your player.

NOTE: A DVD-Audio player is required. It is not the same thing as a normal DVD-Video player.

If you need a free ISO burner for Windows I like this one:
http://infrarecorder.sourceforge.net/ It works really well for most
things.

It's also available on torrent networks:
http://www.diatonis.com/torrent/DIATONIS_DARK_EDGES_DVD-AUDIO_2GB_ISO2.torrent

Thanks for listening
