Forum Member Projects News and Promotion / Crowdfunding Zanov DVD
« on: June 24, 2017, 02:17:50 AM »
Zanov played live on stage for the first time since his come-back at SynthFest France 2017 (his previous stage performance dates back to June 1978).
This unique concert featured songs of his last album « Open Worlds » and included several new exclusive musical themes. The performance was complimented by a special video created & produced by Zanov which fits his musical universe.

PWM & Zanov Music have set-up a crowdfunding project to produce a "Limited Edition" DVD from this concert, filmed with 8 cameras. 100 units will be produced if there is enough interest to pre-order it.
The price of the DVD is € 20. You will be receiving a refund if the DVD is not produced before May 31st, 2018.
You will be kept informed by email on the progress of the project.
For more info, please use email zanov.music@gmail.com

You can subscribe in French on the Patch Work Music website : https://asso-pwm.fr/shop/zanov/dvd-live-2017/

Alternatively, if you don’t speak French, you can subscribe in English on the Zanov Music Shop website : http://zanov-music.creezvotreboutique.com/product_info.php?products_id=31

I can always give it a go.....

I rediscovered this 1985-classic from Germany recently & found out the composer remastered & digitally remixed the music in 2011; he's now offering it as a cd-r; for those interested, read the review on my site for an impression, which has the composers e-mail at the bottom.

Johan Rehn recently put out another 2 fine releases:

Silentwave - Daiyuzan ; if you dig Roach's "Quiet Music" you will dig this quality ambient by this Japanese composer;
a review is on my site.

Mathias Grassow - The Nightquest Sessions; slightly edited version from the '98 cassette;

Walter Christian Rothe – Let the night last forever
CD/Digital Download, Groove Unlimited, 1985/2016

Belgian composer Walter Christian Rothe lived in the heart of the city of Brussels when he composed his classic album ‘Let the night last forever”. Comprising of nine parts it tells the story of his love for the night in the city especially the loneliness of the early hours. Today the music is as compelling as it was thirty years ago thrusting the listener on a mood roller coaster. The album kicks off dramatically with “Intro+Dawnfall” followed by the beautiful reflective sound painting of “The Next Leaf” both favourites of mine echoing Vangelis.
The mood changes with the high energy “Tea-dance” and “Sahara” (used in the Belgian film C4) leading into the enigmatic “Death”. “Radio” picks up the pace again with some great percussive and melodic elements followed by “Verena”, a lush sounding romantic exploration. “Hymne” creates a new atmosphere with traditional influences accentuated with sparse and dramatic sounding tympani crashes setting the mood for the album title track finale. The final title “Let the night last forever's” dramatic intro and melodic qualities brings the journey full circle. The magic blend of sounds and compositions offer many surprises for a remarkable album.
Note:
This first CD album reissue is expanded with two bonus pieces: “KLEM Track” (from the 1986 KLEM Jubilee MC) and the lovely mini-symphony “El Tiempo” (from the 1989 KLEM Jubilee CD).

I remember Anthony once mentioned to me he stopped making/releasing new stuff privately due to the massive illegal copying and internet downloads back then....I'll remember him a nice and kind guy of which I hoped he had made some more fine ambient records...

I second Castleview's comments, but it's just the way it is;
in addition, I also highly recommend his early planetarium albums (mc's) "Planets, Stars & Galaxies" (1987) and "Mars: The Journey Begins" (1988);
contact me through a pm if interested.

Michael's long-overdue planetarium album "Music for the Dome" is finished & already at TrepStar ready to be uploaded to BandCamp. But, it's holding off on releasing it 'till September when college radio is back 'online' for the fall semester. Everything simply shuts down in the summer.

Most of Michael's time has been spent scoring a feature film for Sony, long project that will take him through next spring for release in 2018.

In addition, he's been working on a new two room studio up in the foothills of Santa Fe. The upstairs studio will be all synths and guitars, downstairs is a large Dolby Atmos mixing stage. Downstairs is finished, he's working now on the upstairs studio and systems integration at the moment.

Julio, did you read the previous posts?  You can get this for $17.50 total from Stearns site, if they have any left.

Regarding Groove Unlimited shipping, it's outrageous.  No one in Europe charges that much, unless maybe for registered.  Databloem, also in Netherlands, charges 5 EUR, about $6, flat rate per order.   I have used Groove but less likely now unless it's something I can't get anywhere else.

If you ask Ron to send the cd without the bigger hardcase postage will be much cheaper; btw, the Databloem releases are all thin-cases, so also lower postage rates; when I  get an album from the US, postage is also between $ 9.50 and $11,50

well, I got a weak spot for most of his Gterma releases
if interested, read the reviews of them on my site...
