Other Ambient (and related) Music / sfc002 - Vast Oceans of Doubt
« on: October 05, 2008, 05:19:01 AM »
The second release on my sloth-like ambient/experimental label Southfacing is by me. It's dark, brooding stuff - written at the end of a tough year following my partner's brother's death and trying to document some of the emotions that I went through - and so whilst it is offered up as a free download, I'm asking for a 2.00 donation to his charity; The Simon Challenger Trust, if you enjoy listening to it.

Sample tune: Drop

Are there any Ambiloop users here? I did a search but couldn't find any reference.

This is one of the best pieces of software out there and the new version (1.70) throws an incredible new set of tools into the mix.

And it's free! ...for quite possibly the most powerful looping tool out there.

Other Ambient (and related) Music / Shirk - 'The Long Game' Album
« on: July 02, 2008, 10:21:24 AM »
Hi,

I hope it doesn't seem too rude that this is my first post and I'm promoting my new label/album, but in starting to try and market my music (having finally got up the courage to spend some hard earned $$ getting it manufactured) and I'm finding all these great websites and resources I never knew existed before!.. so I hope to become a valuable member of the forum.

Anyway, onto business. I've just started a label called Southfacing and released my debut album on it under my ambient musical name of Shirk, the album is called 'The Long Game' and is a CDR release that can be bought for 5 inc. postage via paypal using a whizzy button on the website (or I'm up for trades too)

Here's a tune so you can hear what it's like: http://www.southfacing.info/music/shirk_lostcontrol.mp3
..and another sample so I can tease you: http://www.southfacing.info/music/shirk_dipsy_sample.mp3

There's more samples and tunes up at the Southfacing website http://www.southfacing.info and the Shirk website http://www.southfacing.info/shirk

The album is a properly made CDR with nice double sided artwork:

That's all for now - looking forwards to finding some great music through this forum and the hypnos label.

Paul
