Listening to some of it now on Bandcamp  Sounds really good so far.  8)

This is really a good 2 cd release! I've been listening to it quite a bit recently. Also, his Live At Soundquest Fest 2010 is available on Bandcamp as a download only. Really enjoyable listening.

Cool track, Pete.I like working with different instruments when composing and recording as I think we approach the music differently with each instrument.Maybe it's because i'm not that good on any instrument, buti do like working that way.

Unfortunately, it looks like it's going to be awhile before mine is up working like it should. After a very frustrating afternoon of installation it is not working the way it should. Granted, I am not the most mechanically inclined person around. I have it on the guitar and it looks great. The bass strings E and A sound good, but the others either sound muted or not musical.I think I am about 90% there as far as proper installation is concerned.I am probably going to take it to a guitar tech to finish the job. I was getting some pretty cool cello like parts on the top strings, but that was it. At least I can hear and see the potential of this device. Meanwhile, there are some interesting demos online and on their Facebook page Gizmotron LLC.

I should have my Gizmotron installed on one of my guitars by this weekend. I'm anxious to see how well it works. The demos look promising and I like the fact that your picking hand is free to easily switch between the Gizmotron and picking.

I've been experimenting a bit lately with ambient guitar. I'm using a Strymon Big Sky for reverb and a Moog MF-104m for delay with interesting results. I also use a moog MF-101 Low Pass and a MF-103 Phase Shifter. I'm not a very good guitarist, so I need to work on that a bit. I also picked up a Gizmotron not too long ago, but haven't installed it yet. Should be an intersting device.

Here in South Texas Autumn is especially appreciated as we finally get some relief from the blazing heat of summer which can be brutal. My favorite time of year.

I'm going to try the Arturia demo this weekend. I had already pretty much decided to put my Easel up for sale. Not an easy decision. It is a lot of fun, but I keep thinking of what else i can get with that money. It is my most expensive piece of gear and I don't really use it as much as I thought I would.

Which reminds me that I'd love on of these Music Easels:

I'm really enjoying mine. At first I got sort of frustrated with it as there is a learning curve like most synths. I found myself trying to force my will upon it and not accomplishing much. Recently I've been letting it take me where it wants and experimenting from there. I've been copying patches from others and using them as starting points and getting better results. Lots of fun.

We had a Synthi AKS in our small electronic music studio at Trinity University back in the early to mid '70's.I loved playing with it. I never felt I was totally in control, but I came up with some great sounds on it. Often accidentally, but that was okay with me.

Welcome, Jon.

Buchlas and Moogs and ARPs, Oh my!! Forrest, Scott and Loren, I envy you guys and the gear you had access to back then. I attended Trinity University in San Antonio and there wasn't much interest in electronic music there. Luckily the head of the music department was interested, so we had a small electronic music studio which shared a room with overflow file cabinets of sheet music. My electronic music class was basically an intro class  concentrating on history and hands on experience with the gear which consisted of a EMS Synthi AKS, a EML Elecrocomp 101 and a EML 400/401 sequencer. We also had 2 Revox 2-tracks and a stereo system for playback. Like I said there wasn't much interest. My class only had eight students and they hardly ever signed up to use the studio, so my professor pretty much gave me a key so I could use it whenever I wanted. Even after I graduated. He retired a few years later and the university sold everything!  :-[ I do have great memories of playing and learning on that gear, though. BTW, this was around 1973 to 1976.
