Other Ambient (and related) Music / Re: Steve Roach discussion

Headphoned "Arc of Passion" the other night, and have gained a deep respect for that album. Masterful work, and a great accompaniment to art creation...

Arc has been in the phones for me too - the 2 part title track is "needlessly?" long IMHO but "Views Beyond" is the most incredible things he's done in a long while - play that loud to appreciate the depth of it - it works really well as a conclusion to the album - I have the feeling that some fantastic underground destination has been reached.

Other Ambient (and related) Music / What vinyl have you got locked away?

Is it just me? I have a whole bunch of other 70's electronic music on vinyl hidden away (maybe a 1/3 of 600+ albums I guess - Krautrock and French electronic/jazz-rock) - I don't have a turntable anymore though.

I had an album by Ed Starink that I quite liked - (I thought it was his 1st album - Crystallin but found this link here that suggests it wasn't probably sounds dated now and I haven't heard it in ages (can't even remeber if I had it on vinyl or if it was a taped copy) - anyone remember this artist?

A French violinist with an X in his name (Xavier?),

Eyeless Dreams (just found this - - seems like you can download the tracks!) - very cold, glassy, metallic, Tangy krautrock

Baumann-Koek (not The Baumann) which I thought was great anyway.

Lots of Klaus Schultz, Ashra, Far East Family Band, Stomu Yamashta, Egg, Pinhas/Heldon, J-M Kajdan, Zed, Cluster, Roedelius,Moebius, Gunter Scheckert(!?), Rother, Neu, Benoit Widemann (Excellent Stress!! and album called 3 I think - I remember never being able to get hold of the mysterious 2nd (I think)) - loads more I can't remember without looking.

"Ambient Expanse" has been on my mp3 player for a couple of months now - sounded great the other day when I was out cycling for 3 hours on a cool, calm day with the bright sun low and in my eyes most of the morning. The music is so formless, blissful - it really helps me to open up and connect to everything outside.

I like most of the collaborations - anything else in the same vein (even if it's by someone else) I should be listening to?
