To all the creative fizbos who made tracks out of my dishwasher -

First of all, thanks so much for taking the time to create such interesting music from such an odd source.  It's amazing to me what you guys can do.

Second, I want to make a mix using the various dishwasher tracks created here so is it okay with everyone if I just download your cuts and use them in a mix?

Excellent video Pete!  What did you use to create it?  What the original source video?

Good catch Chris!  I use a similar one on my Bandcamp profile...

Great 24 hour streaming audio of field recordings brought to you by Janek Schaefer.

"Using over 1000 calm & curious location recordings captured by 100 recordists, the sounds were simply edited, and then played back three at a time at various volumes in shuffle mode, and the result is never the same twice."

Chris,  Thanks for the heads up on those two albums.  I just downloaded them from Bandcamp.  They sound wonderful, especially the Bill Seaman album.

Other recent spins:

Offthesky & Pleq - A Thousand Fields -  I've been waiting for this one for a long time and I'm glad to finally hear it.  Excellent orchestral tinged ambience.

The New Honey Shade - Ozark Dream  -  At times lush, at times noisy, sometimes using synths, sometimes using found sounds or an old time guitar.  An nice odd collections of tunes.

Public Service Broadcasting - Race for Space -  My favorite album of the year so far.  This tells the story of the American & Soviet space race in the 60s.  It tells the story through archival news broadcasts and communications between the astronauts and master control intertwined with music that's a bit electronic, a bit prog, a bit krautrock.  Maybe I love it because I'm a space nerd but this is a great album.

Hahaha!  Good idea Forrest!  Maybe someday I'll stick my Go Pro in there.

Other Ambient (and related) Music / I love this album

One of my favorite albums so far this year is The Race For Space by Public Service Broadcasting.  And the best cut on it is Go!  Take a listen...

PSB is a duo that combines electronic-ish music with spoken-word passages from old public-service messages, filmstrips, newscasts, etc.  On The Race For Space, they also incorporate NASA communications with the astronauts & mission control.  For a geek like me who loves music and anything NASA it's a perfect marriage.  I really enjoyed their first album but this one is on another level.

I can't recommend this one enough.  Here's a few more links...

Very nice, Pete!

I loved playing it for my son as he has a bunch of native instruments plugins and has just recently discovered vocoder fx.

Well done!

dirk serries - streams of consciousness  - I love me some ambient guitar!  This is excellent.  https://tonefloatikon.bandcamp.com/album/streams-of-consciousness-152401

Nathan Amundson - Western Songs - This is a very simple recording and that's why I like it.  It's basically one guitar strummed & improvised with a fair amount of echo.  Amundson describes it this way - " late night instrumental guitar jams evoking the vast, arid landscape surrounding his home state of Colorado."  Yup!   https://rivulets.bandcamp.com/album/western-songs

Robert Fripp - Glass & Breath  -  An un-Fripp-like minimalist recording of bell type sounds.  A nice free release from DGM.  http://www.dgmlive.com/archive.htm?artist=14&show=1167

Very nice!  I'd love to somehow incorporate these different versions into a mix eventually.

The original track is now available for download.  It's only an mp3 cuz that's what it was originally recorded as.  Have at it.

The extent of my musical abilities is slowing down sounds or falling asleep with my head on my son's keyboard.  So if anyone wants to grab the track and mess with it, please go right ahead!

This is as close as I will come to making ambient music(or any music for that matter).

My dishwasher was making weird noises the other day, kind of sounded like some alien playing a didgeridoo was trapped inside.  So I recorded it and then processed it using Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch.  And whaddya know it actually sounds pretty good.

The only other ambient track I ever made was about 30 years ago so I guess that means my next track will be released when I'm in my 80s.
