From Here to Tranquility Vol 2.  Silent label comp from 1993.  Lots of gems from some obscure ambient groups, plus a Namlook track and Robert Rich track.

Purl--Stillpoint.  Ambient dub on the Silent Season label.  I am selling my copy, let me know if interested.  It's sold out already, 350 copies were pressed...

I'm selling my copy of Purl's Stillpoint CD, sold out on Silent Season, for $20 if anyone's interested.  It's listed on Discogs.  Thanks.

Put it on my wantlist on Discogs.  Thanks.  Wonder how much this thing's gonna cost $$$.  Hopefully not too bad.

Where can I order this grassow box from?  The labels site is in Russian and I don't see this box on the website at all.

Hey Chris, followed the link to the Jaja album Stellamare.  I thought this might be a cool album until I heard the CHIRPING BIRDS.  I was not aware there were birds flying around in outer space.  Kinda ruined it for me.

Woob 2 (em:t 4495).  I just paid a whopping $70 for this rare CD on Discogs, which is comparatively low to what others are asking.  As often pointed out, not as good overall as the first release, but still excellent.  Has a psychedelic jungle feel on the rhythmic pieces, with its share of quiet moody interludes.

Numina--Through the Gate to Nowhere.  This is a very gloomy album.  Think Stalker, early Vidna Obmana, Lustmord...much more dark ambient than his Hypnos releases.

Pjusk--Sart.  One of the best things IMO that 12k label ever released.  Kind of real quiet, delicate fourth world micro ambient, maybe a glitchy Brian Eno (?).  Lovely stuff.  Their followup on 12k and Glacial Movements discs are awesome too.

Thomas P. Heckmann--The Lost Tales Vol IV.  The first two volumes were released on Fax, while the third and now this one on Carpe Sonum, which is carrying the fax torch by releasing music that could have  or should have been on Fax.  This one is for people who reeeeeeeally like electronic music.  Lots of thick modular sounds, bleeps, and experimental rhythms.  The soundtrack to a modern city composed by a mad scientist locked in a room full of synths.  From the menacing to the beautiful, this disc has it all.  There's a piece on here that you'd swear was Pete Namlook.  Probably the best of the series.  Recommended!

As the trio?  I guess Orange, Blue, Dorfkirche Repelen...still need Red and now Green.  I have a ton of Manikin stuff plus the reissues on Syngate.  I liked the recent e.p. collaboration with Cosmic Hoffmann, but I still need to buy the disc through bandcamp.  I also love Thomas Fanger's work...

Thanks for this review!  Duly noted and order placed at Jesse's bandcamp.

Projekt has reissued the first Solitaire album. Altered States, digitally.  Highly recommend this one from the early 90s.  Also there's a new Numina CD on Spotted Peccary, a collaboration with Zero Ohms.  Surprised this was never mentioned here, unless I missed it...

Thanks for this.  Love bks!  About four latest Manikin discs I still need to buy.  They are on bandcamp now.

The Outfield--Play Deep.  This is a power pop gem from 1995.  Great songs and production.  Commercial and radio friendly but still an edge to it.  Great stuff.  Sorry no ambient today!

I bought that Purl disc immediately upon announcing it.  350 copies sold out within a couple days...

My favorite Fax would be:

Shades of Orion 2 & 3
2350 Broadway 1, 2 & 3
Outland 2
Dreamfish 2
Psychonavigation 2, 3 & 5
Organic Cloud
Electroharmonix
Zenith

Inland was such a disappointment from Tetsu.  By far my least favorite of his Fax releases.  Same with 2350 Broadway 4.  What a weak end to a previously flawless series.  But what do I know.  I'm just an ambient redneck.

Expo 70--Corridors to Infinity/Star Coloured Clouds 2CD.  Great release of cosmic guitar and analog synth in vein of early TD (especially Zeit) and early Ashra/Gottsching.  Turn on the lava lamp and space out, dude.

The sticky labels were always the culprit.  I burned backups of my Oophoi/Umbra collection and happy to say I didn't lose a one by doing this.  In fact Gigi sold me a massive (12 disc) Klaus Wiese singing bowls set via Discogs and he was not putting labels on anymore for this reason.  I'm confident they will have a long life.

I just listened to this on bandcamp and I don't understand what all the negative comments are about.  Sounds pretty f****** awesome to me.  My order is being placed SOON!!
