Is there such thing as an "avoider" personality?  This woman has done this type of thing.  Acts Luke nothing happened and ignores/does not acknowledge things said or done.

Everything and Nothing / April Fools Day ignored and denied???
« on: April 01, 2015, 11:06:29 PM »
Today I pranked a woman at work who I'm friends with both in and outside the office.  The joke was I put a mini post it under her mouse.  It covers the sensor and the pointer on the computer screen won't work as a result.  I wrote April Fools on the note and my name.  I did this last year to two coworkers and they thought it was funny.  I didn't hear from the woman all day and finally went to see her.  I asked if she got my joke and she said no.  The post it had also been taped securely so it wouldn't fall off.  I picked up her mouse and it wasn't there.  She acted like she knew nothing about it.  It could only be removed if someone turned it over and pulled off the tape.

Does this sound "normal" where someone would not acknowledge a little prank and when questioned, totally deny it?  I cannot think of any reason, especially since we are friends.

The best thing I've heard so far this year, ambient wise, is Enceladus by Sphare Secs.  Stunning deep outer space stuff.  As good if not better than their Tiefschlaf CD.  On Malignant Records.

Back in the old days of vinyl and cassette, there were no previews except the song or two they played on the radio.  You had to take a chance if a buddy didn't already have it.  Sometimes the rest of the album sucked.  In this day and age, if you can let people listen to what they may spend their money on, without restrictions, they would be more likely to buy it .  Well I would anyway.  Streaming two tracks from an album with six would limit my probability of ordering a CD or downloading.

Next time, you might want to use something better than the Casio keyboard you bought at Radio Shack for $99...

(Now THAT was a joke)  ;D

"Music for Dishwashers"

Brian Eno's long awaited project, coming soon....

Judd, I agree about the Yearning album.  Lisa Moscow was on a track on Propagation, then they did the full album.  I saw them live together in 1994 at a small church in San Francisco.  Fantastic concert!!!

I did like Morphology because it had live versions of some early material, from Numena for example.

My comment about harshness refers to the style, not any errors in the production.  To clarify, the album can get quite dark in places and the sounds are more harsh than the floating more ethereal passages.  I was not giving this a negative review based on this observation.

Blake Gibson/Robert Davies--"Quiraing".  Very nice album of organic landscape ambient a la Grassow and Stearns.  If you liked the Amplexus label back in the 90s you will dig this.  Also David Parsons work is similar in spots.  Airy, stratospheric sounds morph into darker passages of drones that are occasionally a bit harsh.

Solipsism-- thoth machine.  Jury still out on this one...

Projekt does this too.  Annoying.

Robert Rich lost his muse years ago.  There, I said it.  This new one is another overly digitized, cold affair that continues to be light years away from his visceral work of the 80s and 90s.  Seems to be no real passion anymore in the music, and every new release sounds like the last.  No thanks.  I'd rather hear numena or trances/drones on repeat than buy 10 more very mediocre releases.

The old me would've apologized for other's rude behavior, but since I don't do that anymore, "sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable" is not an option.  If they're uncomfortable, that's their f***** issue!   I've gotten so sick of always being sensitive to others feelings  yet the majority of people nowadays are oblivious to everything except themselves and their cell phone.  In this situation, I'm torn between dropping the whole thing or bringing it up.  If this person doesn't give a shit about me, why should I care?

Wow, not even I would travel (and I'm just a few states away) to a Steve Roach concert, unless if it was within 50 miles.  Now that's dedication!

How come the two people who visit the Hypnos Forum the most never, or rarely, contribute or make comments?

Do people here only post when they are at work?

Enquiring Minds want to know....

Thanks.  Yeah, being butt-hurt about it isn't getting me anywhere.  I'm going to bring it up and try to think of the right thing to say.  I don't like to let things linger without clearing the air if I can.

Lots of Bernd Kistenmacher, especially his My Little Universe box and his very good new album Paradise.

Alio Die/L. Montana--Holographic Codex.  I had the opposite reaction, thought the first track didn't really fit as their styles are so different.  Montana's beats sound too much like his collabs with Namlook.  The rest of the album is more Alio and is pretty good, typical Alio drones.

Alio Die/Parallel Worlds--Elusive Metaphor, Aglaia--Intangible Opacity.  Gotta love these esoteric album titles!!  Well since Projekt took over a month of pre order status, I got a refund and download ed from iTunes.  Elusive is quite good, nice analog synths to add some interesting texture.  The Aglaia is typical highly atmospheric organic droneage.  I always look forward more to his albums than anything else on Hic Sunt Leones.

I really want to like this new Roach/Metcalf album but I just can't get past Metcalf's intrusive drumming.  Never really cared for their collabs or Metcalf solo albums.

Another EM icon gone.  RIP Edgar.  Gonna play Epsilon tonight in your honor

A female coworker and I had been getting more personal and friendly recently after 6 years of simply cordial greeting and sporadic smalltalk.  Recently she asked me to help her lose weight because she noticed I had really slimmed down.  I was flattered and really wanted to share my knowledge and what worked for me.  I suggested meeting at Starbucks after work for privacy and curbing nosy coworkers.  I had copies of some great material to give her and planned to help her write out a program she could use to start losing weight.  She said sure, thanks for being willing to help me...but she said she was too busy that week and could we do it the next week.  I emailed asking if she worked the following Friday as it would be a good day for me.

I never got a reply and she acts like it never happened.  (She did receive and read the email.). No mention of it.  Really pissed me off because I had already invested time in this, gave her a protein drink and a few helpful tips. I think it's really rude not to respond at all and suddenly drop it.  My theory is she thought I had romantic ulterior motives, especially since her female coworker buddies are very catty and gossipy and maybe they gave her this idea.  Or she got cold feet attempting to diet. Who knows.  But it's made it weird for me because I feel she ignored me and was inconsiderate.  So I've been avoiding her and keeping conversations to a minimum.   How would you handle this?
