Everything and Nothing / Re: The holiday food you're waiting for
« on: December 19, 2007, 10:23:17 PM »
Speaking of things that SOUND absolutely disgusting... my oldest friend has a party dish he makes which is fairly common, actually.  It's a dip involving canned chili and velveeta pseudo-cheese, melted and stirred into a sloppy goo.  Sounds disgusting, yes, but if you try a taste you'll find yourself eating more and more and more until you have a bellyache and salt poisoning.
Oh, yes.  That is good. My wife makes a similar dish with Velveeta and a can of Rotel tomatoes and green chilis. I don't worry about it during the holidays, though. I just double up on my cholesterol medication and ,of course, have another beer. OMG, Angel Food Chocolate!!!  I need some now!!!   Harry D

Here in San Antonio, it's homemade tamales. I'm not of hispanic descent, but I have friends that always invite us over during the holidays plus I have a source of a family that makes them at home for sale. They are delicious! Nothing like the store bought kind. Sadly, I hear that many of the younger Mexican - American kids aren't interested in carrying on the time consuming family tradition of the Tamalada :( .  Anyway, I'll enjoy them while I have them.  Harry D

"Dali: The Endless Enigma", ooh, I have forgotten about that release. That is a really good recording! I need to go back through my extremely well organised ::) cd collection and find it. I haven't listened to it in quite sometime.   Harry D

Can't wait to hear his new release, "Arc of Passion". I'll probably pick it up after christmas or so. How does it sound actually? A bit like "Mystic Chords & Sacred Spaces"?
"Mystic Chords and Sacred Spaces" is one of my favorite Steve Roach releases. but "Arc of Passion" sounds nothing like it.    Harry D

On the "old" forum, 9dragons had a thread going on this. He posted some really interesting links to live performances recently. 9dragons, do you still have those links and would you post them again? Thanks,   Harry D

I use Digidesign Mbox for recording. I also use Acid Pro 4, as well. My main instrument is my modular which is mostly Synthesizers.com modules with some Blacet, MOTM, Wiard and DIY modules tossed in for good measure. I also have and use a Kawaii K5000s, Nord Micromodular, DSI Evolver,Yamaha CS-50, Roland HPD-15 Handsonic, and a bunch of other hardware and software synths. I definitely have more gear than talent ;)  As far as a secret weapon is concerned, it must be really secret, as I haven't a clue what it is. I am still looking , though.     Harry D

I have heard the tracks several times and I'm not sure why the split, either. One is more intense than the other. It ,also, would be more than an hour of sequenced music which might be a bit much for some. There is definitely a different feel to both tracks. But, that being said, it could easily be one long track IMO.  Harry D

I've been listening to it, Arc of Passion, the last few days and it is very enjoyable. A great blend of ambient and Berlin School. I'm finding the 4th track, Views Beyond, to be most interesting.   Harry D

Hello,  I've been lost and trying to find my way home. Is this it? :) Glad to see the forum back. You don't realize how much you enjoy something until it's gone.   Harry D
