This is a really interesting topic. I am one of those Mike mentioned who knew absolutely nothing about this subject before reading this. I have always noticed how much better headphones sounded through a good mixer's headphone jack. I listen mostly through the headphone jack on my ProTools Mbox tower. Is something like this any good at all? Granted, I do need to buy a much better pair of headphones than I am now using.

However I don't understand why in the electronic music genre someone would need to lift an atmosphere or a drum groove etc. That seems like laziness, and yet I know it happens.

Well, I'm 62 and I still remember where I live a lot of the time.

Well I am sorry to tell you, but I find some kind of time pressure, I am reaching 30, I am starting to realize you do not live forever, and life is short.
I also know artistic creativity is not exactly something that gets easier with the years, I still have it in me, but let see how it is when I am starting to reach 40.
So it feels like a battle against the time... I wish I could slow down time...

It is disappointing. The good thing is that many people on this forum and others have discovered her work. I will continue to follow her now. Also, great job on the music, Loren.

Just voted from my computer and then tried to vote again from my iPhone. It informed me that my vote had already been counted. Like Mike said, don't hesitate to remind us. I sometimes have a hard time remembering my socks in the morning.  ;)

This is really a great time to get familiar with Broken Harbour for those who aren't. I have all of these releases and can't recommend them enough. I'm anxious to hear the new release.

Just downloaded and am listening to Threshold Guardian. Sounds good so far. I just noticed your earlier post. No, I don't have anything up available for listening. I hope to remedy that soon. I'm getting a little more comfortable with digital recording and I have a much younger friend who is not like me and intimidated by computers who said he would help me. Now if I can just find the record button and figure out how to rewind the tape on my computer I will be okay.  ::)

The introduction section is in the Everything And Nothing section, but what you wrote is a pretty good intro. I plan to download and listen to more of your music this weekend when I have more time. As I said earlier , I'm a sucker for drones, especially analog drones. We all came to this music through different paths which makes it interesting to read how others found it. Good luck with your music and I look forward to hearing more.

Nice work, Earth_Orbit. I have to admit that I'm a sucker for drone music. I also have been desiring a MOTM Cloud Generator for quite some time. Nice to hear it in action. BTW, welcome to the forum. There is a section for introductions on the forum and I would recommend using it. It helps us get to know you a little bit better. It's not required, but you'll find that people will tend to pay more attention to your music and are more likely to comment if they know a little more about you as a forum member.  :)

Wow! Now I'm getting excited. Where can I pre-order?   ;)

I often wonder if I have to much music, as well. I often , due to economic reasons, have to curtail my buying for a short period of time. Now happens to be one of these times as I have taken off quite a bit of time from work in the last four months or so. I had back surgery followed by a death in the family and a trip that had been planned in advance that I didn't want to cancel. I do know that soon I will go back to purchasing releases in this genre.I enjoy hearing new works and also I enjoy supporting artists that I know and like their music. I do feel a certain sense of community being on a forum like this as I have for quite sometime. I also get excited when I hear of a new release from a forum member. I can't buy them all, but I do try to be supportive. As we all know this is not a big money field, so often just the encouragement is important to an ambient artist. I'm glad that Hypnos is not going anywhere soon. I hope that everyone is able to get something out of this genre of value. I have talked to artists who are struggling to get their music heard and only wish the best for them and i will continue to be supportive when I can.

You're welcome!  :D

Hi Castleview. Welcome to the forum. I haven't had a chance to really listen to this yet. I've only been able to listen to fairly short segments due to constraints on my time this week. What I've heard so far sounds good. Hopefully this weekend will allow more time for a deeper listening. I will say that putting up an entire album is a bit overwhelming for a lot of forum members, especially for someone we don't know yet. You might try in the future putting up one track or parts of tracks. It is easy for someone to see an entire album and think , "I don't have time to listen to an album right now. Maybe later", and then never get back to it. I know I have been guilty of this in the past. anyway, just my $.02. Cheers!   Harry

I don't mind ambient noise in general - however I live on a main and busy road and somehow woosh, wooosh, woooosh of traffic does not fit in with gently meditative bowl sounds....

I know I already posted on Richard's facebook page, but I agree, this is one of the best releases of the year.
