He did release an  full length album recently, his last full length was from 2005 12 years ago, I was a really big fan of that album "The Ear That Was Sold to a Fish"  I have not heard elixir yet.. but I can only assume it will be another masterpiece. Have any one else heard it ?
I think he is the master of this type of drone.

Simon, Pär and Robert are back together again after their last album Onyx.

Echo explores mankind's weakness to self destruction. As nature is cyclical so is man's will to destroy. Like a Moth drawn to pulsating light, the painful histories of the past echo with terrifying glee.

Rumbling drone hits your chest, a smooth contour of bass stroking a distant piano. Subdued humming flows out of Pär's nightly studio into the cold Swedish winter. Across the horizon Robert's angelic choirs boom. The smell of burnt circuits as he cranks his distortion to the melting point within the deep woods of Pennsylvania.

From the release "Dyatlov" by Sana Obruent

All tracks were recorded and mixed at TSC studios somewhere in California - 2015 - 2017.

Sana Obruent is - Paul Lopez.

The Dyatlov Pass incident is the mysterious deaths of nine ski hikers in the northern Ural Mountains on February 2, 1959. The experienced trekking group, who were all from the Ural Polytechnical Institute, had established a camp on the slopes of Kholat Syakhl when disaster struck.

During the night something made them tear their way out of their tents from the inside and flee the campsite inadequately dressed in heavy snowfall and sub-zero temperatures...

To this day their deaths are still a mystery.

10.Beyond 06:52

My previous work, "Northreach", was a separate tale about lone person, who is travelling to the northern edge of the earth, constantly meeting different wonders of wild nature.
"Last Frontier" continues this travel of a lone man to the far lands, filled with their own vision of life, full of solitude and denial of elf-conscience, fully devoted to universe and the unknown.

Uprising of the Spirit 12:01
A White Sea 09:21
Glow From the Depths 06:21
Rainout 04:29
The Monument of Power 05:32
The barren soundscapes from Finnish duo Kolhoosi 13 paint a bleak picture. A world in the aftermath of reckless experiments and actions made in the name of power. Manifesting complete disregard of life and man's own habitat. A world where both lives and nature are expendable. Where the grim consequences are just another record erased and forgotten.

Raspy upbeat vinyl recordings reverberates through dilapidated buildings. A Putrid stench of oil mixed with gunpowder seeks out nostrils clogged with soot. Machine gun shots echo through emptied streets. The subdued march of a thousand men makes the ground shake as you hide from the bombs about to drop.

For fans of the European style of militaristic dark ambient and industrial.

Recorded 2008 using Lennartdigital - Sylenth1, it sounds very close to the dreamtime return feel of steve roach, which also was my only inspiration for doing this track. What is missing is a high quality reverb, it sounds little bit dry in general, I think I will do a remix of this with more longer reverb tails.

Have any one seen anything interesting on mobile world congress ?

yes, this can be explained by the steady stream of iLOK protected plugins in the recent month, digital slate...eventide yeah name it all of them..

People who have bought a license can now with good conscience use the cracked version since the cracked version is in some cases a better version ironically.
I think it is wrong ot punish the buyers in that way.  Copy protection is good but now when it has a big impact on performance and it involved a big percentage of the code of the plugins itself is just pure copy protection.

I have been listening to all albums by MoonSatellite on Bandcamp tonight, I can really recommend him..

Soundcloud link is embeded in the link below.

Sounds really good!

Suspension and Reflection/Below and Beyond are on this cd

I have been into steve roach since 2005, 11 years, I was very disappointed in both cds. I fail to grasp it's essence.  I do not like the sound of steve roach, I have noticed every since Dynamic stillness his ambient soundscapes have am more "dark character" more "dark rumble"  for me personally I wish he did cut of a lot of this darker bass energies and focus on the higher and lighter sounds. The "bass" frequency acts more as an distracting element.  I think Oophoi made some kind of statement of it, regarding dark ambient artists.. about this dark "bass rumble" that is just  for me the bass in ambient is just an energy has no real interesting sound detail...
I am just seeing on my spectrum analyzer that steves latest phase albums have cut of the high end quite a lot while the bass frequencies are now more dominant , it just make it sound more muddy and less sound details.

I am convinced that he is using different equipment nowdays then before which explain why he sound different now, most likely a new mixing board, a new studio,  I do not see a progress in steves music since 2008, to me it has gradually gone worse..anyway.. I am always interested when he release a new cd you never know when he will release a masterpiece again.  But considering his last albums the last cople of years have more or less sounded the same I hope he will experiment with different gear and reverbs.  His reverb had a lot more "open" and wet  sound before while now the high end is cut of heavily and his reverb sound a lot more "dry". The big change in his sound  after 2008, with his album dynamic stillness.

I think if just some of his later albums released after 2008 was just remastered or remixed with a more open reverb sound no HP/LP filters (most importantly no low pass). I have just experimented with just adding EQ which make big improvement when making the mix more brighter with more higher frequencies .

So to summarize I am not a big fan of Steve roach later phase album after 2008 which a lot more darker and more dry sound character with a bigger focus on the darker and lower parts of the sound spectrum and "bass rumble"

What incredible beauty, and what a sound..on the sound demos on youtube you can really hear how fat it sounds..

Everything is good though besides the price which is insane!
Too bad it did not have a more reasonable price tag it would had been an amazing success..
It is pretty much the analogue dream synth, digitally controlled. Both Moog and Oberheim fitlers.[

I can really recommend this album. I remember the first time I heard it it was on new years eve, the fireworks was outside, yeah such a magic moment... and I drifted away in my dreams..

I like to listen to ambient at work, I like Drone zone with but but the problem is that bit rate is too low..
Is there any ambient channels with better sound quality ?

I bring my DT1350 headphones and Go Vibe V7 headphone amp to work.
