I would like a moral debate, in ambient music and context would you consider it to be ok to release a  "collaboration" cds where about 50% of each artist are 50% responsible for the music, but for this collaboration albums the other artist is dead from some years back ?

Is it ok releasing leftover drones and soundscapes from this artist to mix 50% with the other "collaborator".
Can it even be called a collbaration if the other part is laying in the grave and really can't make any decisions at all, or of it is even ok to mix his music with the other person who is alive ? is it ok if this person also make financial profit on this albums too.

I am talking about the newly released albums

Klaus Wiese & Tomas Weiss - Aeon and Klaus Wiese & Tomas Weiss - Adrift

Klaus wiese is dead since some years back, and some people are using his leftovers to release collaboration albums and build a career with klaus work and name and reputation

I just find it shocking how low some people can go just to earn some few bucks, but it is kind of clear using dead mans music in ambient music contact and put it 50% mix and then the other artist just add the other 50% on top is for me a big moral dilemma.

The description does not make the picture more clear either of how both people where involved in this collaboration process.

I just want to make to warn people before buying this that this album is only a "fake collaboration" just imagine if steve roach was dead and he left some unreleased material on tape after him and I would take 50% of the mix and merge it with 50% of my music and make it a collaboration, it is not a real a collaboration.  I think what is being done here is that a small  artist using using another artist well known name and reputation and make himself a artistic and financial career on that, I think morally speaking he is reaching new low waters I hope people will not support this shameless releases.

Really trippy ambient in its highest form, I think the video fits perfectly too

Art and Literature, Movies and TV / Prison break
« on: May 16, 2016, 12:02:38 AM »
Watching prison break now. It is really amazing. Better then I thought it would be for sure

Here is a glimpse of my future music project, this is deeply personal music from me.
Project will be based mostly with clean guitar like this, slow/mid tempo drums like this, ambient drones/textures similar to steve roach.

As I said this is deeply personal music for me, I like to record videos like this one to remember what I played and the music itself when I do a proper recording.
Drums is made by me with beatbox it is for demonstration purpose since I am not able to play drums and play guitar at the same time. I aim to use programmed drums for the demo then hire a real drummer to record acoustic drums in studio.  Video and sound is recorded with my smartphone for demonstration purpose.

I can really recommend Better Call saul for breaking bad addicts. many of the casts from breaking bad is in this series, same directors same incredible quality it is just as addictive as breaking bad.

IT must be really hard acting to act like a non human like that :)

Art and Literature, Movies and TV / Stargate SG-1 reunion ?
« on: April 03, 2016, 07:46:30 PM »
So lets start of and say, I am a huge stargate fan.

My first experience with Stargate was  Stargate universe,  I was amzed by it, then I started with atlantis I was very scerptical at first since I thought it was some kind of low budget tv crap,  well..atlantis was also mindblowing.. I was even more sceptic when starting to watch SG-1 after surviving first season sg-1 was really mind blowing as well..

Anyway there has been rumours about a sg-1 reunion now , do any of you guys think that sg-1 reunion will see the light of day ?

It is unclear if it will be a series or a any one else more well informed perhaps of the latest rumors ?

Anyway we need more good sci fi series like this

I am finally coming up for air after two months of being immersed in the final stages of two new releases, along with mapping out the sound flow into the Summer. Both new releases are now at the CD plant and in the digital download queue.

These two releases are each going to be special but very different statements. Full details coming soon. Biosonic and Second Nature on Projekt are collaborations with Robert Logan, a highly talented electronic artist based in London. We have been interfacing on this music for four years, and completed the projects together at The Timeroom in December. The story of this collaboration is rich, and the results are pushing high and deep into new dimensions; mind, body and soul-expanding music. Biosonic and Second Nature are coming in April. Stay tuned!

– Steve

All I can really say is make sure to not miss this is remarkable trust me...

Please try to find it i better quality though since bandcamp is on 128kbps for free users and sound kind of flat and 2d.

I can really recommend this high quality performance.
It is really educational also too see what is going on behind the scenes when he create his magic.

I think Robert Rich would need more hands, he would be amazing as a duo for sure.

I think all the sounds with the Dave Smith Prophet synth does not sound very impressive.
Besides that his sequencing is very impressive and inspiring.

Does any one know what that modular system he have here cost ?

Other Ambient (and related) Music / Arjen Schat - Sonic identity
« on: February 23, 2016, 10:00:06 PM »

“Sonic Identity” is the eighteenth release on and marks as Arjen's fourth release in 2015 after “CrO2”, “Mens”, and the cassette release of “Sequentem”. Its emphasis on complex polyrhythmic sequencing and extended use of analog synthesizers characterizes a sonic identity that is true to Arjen Schat.

“Scalar Fields” was originally published on YouTube as “Final Sequence Of 2014”.
released August 9, 2015

I especially like the last song  Stellar Parallax

Other Ambient (and related) Music / Sequentia Legenda - Blue Dream
« on: February 23, 2016, 09:55:24 PM »
BLUE DREAM is all about nostalgia and mystery. Atmospheric music worthy of the great years of the “Berlin School Music”.
The sequencers and synthesizers are thus in perfect symbiosis for you to travel on a cosmic journey.

Music Gearheads Tech Talk / korg minilogue how many are going to buy it ?
« on: February 03, 2016, 03:49:27 PM »
korg minilogue has a low price.. and I can only imagine the second hand value of this one..
I really want one on my desk right looks fun..and asalways it is when you add the effects you really
can really make magic with this should own every software synth at atleast..

This one will become a huge big seller because of the price and small form factor..and
we can expect more copy casts of similar products soon from more of the bigger companies.

yes, this can be explained by the steady stream of iLOK protected plugins in the recent month, digital slate...eventide yeah name it all of them..

People who have bought a license can now with good conscience use the cracked version since the cracked version is in some cases a better version ironically.
I think it is wrong ot punish the buyers in that way.  Copy protection is good but now when it has a big impact on performance and it involved a big percentage of the code of the plugins itself is just pure copy protection.

I think this re-release must be on of the best in history.
First of it is now finally in widescreen no longer in that unwatchable 4:3 format, also
it has been remastered so it looks better on todays bigger tvs.

I am currently on season 4 now.
I have never seen the full series just a few episodes here and there on tv when I was

The difference in quality is astronomical... they did a very good job at this.

It is like going from vhs to bluray

I have a problem with getting clicking, because of the nature of music is heavily processed with long reverbs and effects etc..
It is hard to get the correct volume level, especially since I do a lot of "cresendo stuff" which means I want a big dynamic range when I play soft or hard on the guitar string.

The solution number 1 would be lower the input level from my kemper amp to my eventide, but this has some serious artifacts I have noticed, the guitar now sounds very thin and not dynamic or powerful at all..however it takes away the click sounds..

It is really hard to get the volume levels right using long reverbs for guitar..
I notice such big difference when I lower input volume on my eventide  that I hope there is any better solution

I use no compressor

you can see my setup here

EDIT: I add a recording from my eventide H8000fw
you can hear for yourself, it is very frustarting..
