A neat thread from the old forum. Today, we hoodwinked our kids, telling them we were going for a ride to see friends (which was true). We had to put our 16 year old Springer Spaniel, Valiant, down this past August (old age/failing health), and this morning, we picked up our brand new, 8 week old Springer puppy!

So far unnamed, we're letting our son & daughter think up a few on their own.

You got FIVE identical dogs?  Wow!

I think you should name them Simon, Nick, John, Roger and Andy.

john, paul, ringo, george and griff

sage practice griff and sound advice, too. when i have reviewer's block i listen to some death metal or punk rock or something as far away from ambient and new age as possible. i find that it numbs my brain for an hour or so and then i can regenerate.
i do a similar thing with music. i make some godawful sounds and warp the f*** out of them with feedback, reverb and anything to make the sound dissonant and foreign. it clears my head and allows me to concentrate on making listenable music.

the atmospheres and instrumentation are great but the vocals put me off a little.

over at darren rogers and i have posted some albums for free download. we have posted his first two cd's - infinity search and inner light of the soul - our second collaboration - beyond the edge of the universe - and my first solo release - a cold day in purgatory. inner light and cold day are double albums and beyond the edge is a triple. it's some cool stuff with some harsh edges. i think you'll like the sounds!

we had a thread about pornbient a loooooooooooooong time ago. it dealt with noodling in the dark and other topics too distasteful to mention again. (yeah, right. there's something too distasteful for brenholts!)
anyway, almost everything with crystal bowls as the main instrument. jim cole's discs are good, too.

I'm listening to Vine, Bark, and Spore.  Brings back memories of the 2000 Tuscon concert.  That was a great show.
yes it was an amazing show.

Damn...I am a 'newbie' again:) hahahah

oh oh oh...what am I???:)

Yeah, I sent you an email complaining about the blue. Too washy/faded, and messes with the white text.
And the blue on posts blends the different posts too much. I'd look for a theme with a bit more differentiation.

And as I also said in the email, I don't mind being a moderator ... I'm checking the forum a lot and wield a mean lightsabre. Everything I know I learned form Obi-John  ;D

What are you talking about?  You're already a Global Moderator, see?

darren, you have always been and will always be a newbie.

while i love both of those movies, griff, a band of brothers might be the best war "movie" i have ever seen. it is a tad long (it is an hbo series - 9 episodes of about an hour each) but it is based on fact and the action is very real. they tried to put a bit too much comic relief in 'tld' and some of 'abtf' was just unbelievable.
my favorite fiction war movie is in harm's way - a bit smarmy and overly melodramatic but some great lines and cool action.
