I've become rather fond of http://www.tonefactor.com recently for their wide variety of pedals and effects.   Mainly because I just got a guitar, but I've always liked effects in so many different forms.

What are your favorites?  Your 'go to' pedals and effects?  Recommendations?

Hardware / Software - it's all good.

john

there's 2 malekko echo 300's on ebay now... $200 and $150 respectively, but no 600's...

Recently I've been getting into Native Instruments Guitar Rig. It does a lot of what I want effects pedals to do. I do wish I had the foot controller that goes with it, though. My old standby rig is a Line 6 POD, MXR Carbon Copy delay, Line 6 DL4 delay modeler, MM4 modulation modeler, MoogerFooger Phaser, and MoogerFooger LPF. I also have a Guild Copicat tape echo that is fun to play with. I have a Roland VG-88 guitar processor and GK-2a pickup that I have sort of forgotten about. I need to get those out and play with some more.

got tons of effects, lotta boutique stuff but... LOVELOVELOVE guitar rig 4! such great sounds, so many options, all useful.

Thanks for watching and for the comments guys.

Yes - "The Great Gig in the Sky" is my favourite piece from "Dark Side".
I'd declare "Shine On You Crazy Diamond - Parts 1-9" as my personal favourite song of all time.
Rick was a huge contributer to this beautiful and emotional creation.

you sent me that link to my gmail Scott...

I LOVE IT!

claude debussy-preludes

'La fille aux cheveux de lin' or 'the girl with the flaxen hair' is my fave.

it tastes like buttercream cake frosting and feels like cool, fresh linen.

in my ears/mind that is.

great entries so far folks-
ironically, i'm recording the rain and cars going by on my street in the city in Buffalo, NY right now;
sounds like a wonderful rainy summer night in the city to me-
Rain? I remember rain. We are in the middle of a SERIOUS drought. The idea of listening to rain sounds so wonderful about right now. It's 11:48 p.m. here and the temperature is 84' F.    Harry (glowing like a pig)

more rain today... beautiful to listen to as you sleep-

What microphone(s) would you recommend for professional field recordings..with still an low budget in mind ???
From what I know...such microphone are usually very expensive...

honestly, i don't use a mic with the zoom, (it has 4 capsule mics built in), but if you were to use a mic, i'd probably go omni-directional.

My old fashioned recorder is the Sony TC-D5 ProII Sorry for the huge shot , but it took me 30 minutes to get the picture to show up.    Harry (computer whiz!)

very nice; tape makes for some wonderful sounding field recording.

Miles Davis 'Sketches of Spain'.
when i listen to it, i can't help but think how much work he put into it.
beautiful and under rated album.

various Richard Matheson short stories, including 'mad house'.
if you're not familiar with him, he wrote 'what dreams may come', 'i am legend', and several twilight zone episodes.
brilliant descriptives.

Jamie & I have a tradition of jamming on New Year's Day to bring the year in on a positive note.
For 2009 we were joined by our friends Eric Hopper (Sylken) and Steven Sauvé (karmafarm).
I've extracted this piece and titled it Heliocentric Migration as it starts off ambient then takes off... perhaps to Venus.

Heliocentric Migration - (Scott M2, Jamie Todd, Eric Hopper, Steven Sauvé - 2009)

i really dig you guys live Scott, two men; one brain.
if you and Jamie wanna do a New Years set this year together, just say the word.
as Kev, (Sleep Research Facility), told me; "these guys are like a modern Tangerine Dream", haha.
