A couple of nice releases I've been listening to lately:

Jaja - Milky Way
         Sparkles

Both of these releases are very meditative and calm.  Performed live.  Nice for late-night contemplation, especially Milky Way, which has long-form pieces spread over two discs.

Phobos - An October Evening

Also a live recording.  Hard to describe this one.  Moody and dark in places, bordering on dark ambient, with ebbs and flows, and occasional suggestions of melody.  Well done.

Forrest

Cheers Forrest, glad it arrived ok. ;)

This doesn't really fit with the usual Phobos stuff, but I always wanted to do a track with some female voice in it. So it is still ambient, but not as dark and its short!!!

The disc set is now sold out. Download still available of course.
A very big thank you to everyone on here who has bought the album and particularly the physical discs. I am very grateful to all of you for your support.
Best Regards
David

It isn't just Hypnos Forum that is quiet, a couple of the others I am members of, are as well. It seems to be a time of the year thing, being summer and all that, certainly in the UK we don't get that many warm nights to be able to sit out in the garden, so it is best to take advantage when you can. I also think Facebook has taken over from most forums, there are many different and specific ambient music groups on there that you can join if you so wish. I tend to keep my presence on there strictly musical, and don't get involved in anything political or the general shit that Facebook seems to be well known for.

You don't have to use a dongle, it will work with the software iLok licence manager.

And yep, it is well worth the $49.
So it will work just with the licence manager installed even if my computer doesn't connect to the internet, as my music computer doesn't get connected to the net, my everyday laptop which does connect to the net is what I am using the demo on at the moment. I thought I would need an iLok dongle to transfer the licence from one computer to another.

Thanks for the heads up on this, trying out the demo at the moment, very impressive at the moment, and obviously a bargain at the price, I think I will probably get this, even if it means having another dongle sticking out of my computer.

Huh???  I could not find anything on his website about this, and googling Earth Turtle/MSP gave no results except a link to his website, where again I found nothing about this.  Please let me know cuz if I get this from Groove it'll cost twice as much.  Thanks!!

[Phobos, I think you're the only one here who has mentioned Type O Negative, in my top five all-time bands.  Miss these guys so much after Peter's death and subsequent/inevitable end of their career.  Won't be anyone like them probably ever.

Type O Negative were a great band, and had some really brilliant songs, and also some of their cover versions are outstanding, for example their version of Black Sabbaths Paranoid takes the song to a whole new level.
As disappointing as it is I am kind of happy that they are not going to carry on, unlike some other bands I could mention, as that in my opinion would have been disrespectfull to Pete, after all Pete was Type O Negative.

Motorhead were one of my favourite bands from my younger years. even though he led that lifestyle, you kind of thought he would just go on forever. Lemmy wouldn't want to rest in peace, he would rather have it fast and loud! A very great loss to the rock world.

This album is fantastic indeed.
I was expecting as much, since Yen Pox involves Michael J.V. Hensley who has my utmost respect for his phenomenal albums as Blood Box.
It is a great album, hopefully there will be a new Blood Box album this year.
