Just listened to Opaline on Bandcamp. Absolutely beautiful work, quite stunning actually. Congratulations on that Pete. Deserves a CD release that does. On my urgent download list.

Away to check out Iris now  :D

Robert Wyatt - Rock Bottom.

Just managed to get hold of this 1974 album today. Non ambient obviously but there are some ambient elements to it. An acquired taste Mr Wyatt possibly ! However this is a beautiful , melancholy slice of Canterbury Prog. Love it.

I am hoping to order Filaments next week. Just listened to the samples on Robert's website again. Like it.
In addition the artwork is absolutely beautiful.

Have to say I really like "Nest" also. Beautiful album. And Morphology on Anodize, just listened to that this morning actually.

No probs. Well deserved praise indeed.

That's a damn shame putting a neg review on for that. Is there not a way you can respond to that pointing out the error by the user in a post or comment ? I thought I had seen that on the app store with other developers. Maybe not though.

Need a few positive USA users to cancel out such a stupid negative review.

Yes Richard I will do that. Thanks.

Would love to go and see Robert and Steve Roach live, however from a family perspective I can't justify the cost of the journey over the pond etc . Hope you enjoy it.

Was unaware of this so thanks for posting. It is not even on the front of Robert's website yet, had to go into his shop to see Filaments.

Just listening to his samples, this is wonderful !!! Order imminent.

Cheers.

Downloaded the app onto my ipad mini yesterday. This is very good indeed. Beautiful music and enjoy the graphics also. Zapped it onto my iphone and touch also for mobile Ephemeralising.

Interesting concept this. I have the Robert Rich Somnium app but this one takes it to a whole new level. Great stuff , congratulations Scott.

Thank you Third System! My favourite mobile listening on my iPhone has been walking the dog through the back streets late a night.

I too have the Somnium app and turn to it when I'm in the mood for a sparce deep soundscape. I notice that it has disappeared from the App Store now, which is a real shame. :(

Yes I  noticed Somnium has disappeared from the app store. This is very disappointing as I was looking for it yesterday to get on my ipad. Suppose at least I have it on the phone/touch. I wonder what has happened there ?

I will also try out the dog walking scenario, not tonight though as it is effing freezing out there  ;)

PS I will leave a review in the app store when I get a chance at the weekend. Will also mention the app elsewhere. Looking forward to the next one already  ;)

I am gutted.

35 years + since I heard Rubycon for the first time and Edgar's music, both solo and with the Dream, has been part of my life.

RIP Edgar.

Legend.

Abandoned Communities

This Databloem CD has been on constant play for the past week. Excellent, dark, melancholic ambient.

jdh: I streamed AOC5 and it is fantastic--like crazy, sell-your-soul good. I plan to order this as soon as it is listed on Databloem.

Here Chris, will it actually be listed for sale on Databloem ? Shown as limited edition of 150 on ...txt. I pre-ordered months ago but it still seems to be available for ordering. Doubt that will be the case for long.

Thanks J for mentioning it is on bandcamp, off to check it out right now.

That first track on Holographic Codex is excellent !

It is indeed. The instant stand out track on both releases I feel. Really has the feel of the FAX Labyrinth series. Can't stop playing these two Alio Die releases, which for me is the sign of magnificence.

Alio Die / Parallel Worlds - Elusive Metaphor has to be added for 2014, without doubt.

In addition the the bar has been set very high indeed with Alio Die / Lorenzo Montana - Holographic Codex for 2015.

What and end to the year and start to the next.

It has indeed been a superb year for ambient music in 2014.
