That first AWVFTS is incredibly moving. It brings out an array of emotions in me.I have had it for a few years now and it is always enjoyable.I would encourage anyone to see them live in 2014 if they go through your home town.I found it interesting to watch Adam on the guitar clearly going through pedals and other items.I guess with the Star of the Lid connection,I gravitate towards him but Dustin is the other half.

Further to the above. If you go to the link and click on it and the concert is over then go to the You Tube channel for Boiler Room, seems to be playing on a loop.

The Sleepover Series, Volume Two by Hammock-Just as the title says.I drifted off and fell asleep.Volume One is excellent as well. This is more in the Stars of the Lid drift.Other music by Hammock is post rock-ambient.Perfect walking alone music. On Bandcamp.

Robert Rich-Perpetual.This is an 8 hour recording on Blu-Ray or download of his most recent sleep concert.A companion piece to Somnium.I have been a long time listener of the latter so this will be a must buy.

3 minute video clip of David Gilmour recording the new LP.Rare that you can see the studio monitors and vocals.I am looking forward to this. But as he states, this is the end of P.F.
(and no comments on how it ended with Roger leaving)

Fun.You really have to know Bowie/Low to get the humor.

Here is a complete track listing for The Endless River:

SIDE 1
1. "Things Left Unsaid"
2. "Itís What We Do"
3. "Ebb and Flow"

SIDE 2
1. "Sum"
2. "Skins"
3. "Unsung"
4. "Anisina"

SIDE 3
1. "The Lost Art of Conversation"
2. "On Noodle Street
3. "Night Light"
4. "Allons-y (1)"
5. "Autumní68"
6. "Allons-y (2)"
7. "Talkiní Hawkin'"

SIDE 4
1. "Calling"
2. "Eyes To Pearls"
3. "Surfacing"
4. "Louder Than Words"

I can only say that I greatly enjoyed The Division Bell, more so the instrumental parts so I am looking forward to hearing this.No vocals except 1 track,no Roger.I agree that in some ways if it was not good enough in 1994 for release, why now.But with the reworking of tracks, who knows.I remember hearing the 30 minute ambient sounds intro during the  D.B. tour and thought it was actually a very cool way to start the show.It was not music but the way they did it.In a stadium setting very slowly bringing the volume up with left/right panning made my ears pay attention.

In the below $200 mark for portable use,I would look to the JDS C5.Neutral,digital volume control, fast shipping and service.Fiio make some interesting budget amplifiers, warmer sounding, less expensive but not for me.For the ultimate portable use, look at the Headamp Pico Slim.I have both the C5 and Pico, wonderful with my Ipods.Forget about listening through any device using the headphone out-Ipods,stereos or consoles.Using an amp will help greatly to drive headphones of all types. Now,I recently heard the AK 240,at $2500 expensive but worth it.Without a doubt, the best device I have ever heard.

Carbon Based Lifeforms-23.I knew about the label,Ultimae, and thought is was downtempo trance. But this CBL is all ambient,no beats and well recorded.Gentle melodies in there mixed with field recordings.BC
Pink Floyd-Dark Side 2 Disc version-Do we need another remaster of Dark Side,no.But the second disc is why I bought this.It is great. Most songs are longer, some double the length.Well recorded for a rough live mix.CD
Opening-Collection 1-5 tracks from Databloem/APK.The original VA compilation of this series and still the best.CD

I agree with Drone on.
Echo Ark is really superb.Top 2014.Lee just released a new one called "Birth"
Expo 70- I have several of his.My favorite is Where does your mind go.But yes,he can be noisy as well. Not into that part.I do like the lo-fi recordings.
Anjou-New project from Labradford and Pan American on Kranky.1 track out so far but interesting.
Harold Budd-La Bella Vista-Solo piano, just so, so beautiful.

I have all versions, each is outstanding and for a different mood.
The 7 hour version is the one to get.You can find the full download in lossless FLAC here-

http://www.musiczeit.com/album.php?album=164&Robert+Rich+Somnium

This site also has many of Robert's other titles, including some wonderful live concerts.
I have the DVD which does play in any player and some high end CD players. It came out way before the download.
The Itunes version is OK but very edited, proper for quick naps.
The Itunes App is most likely the best version as it can continue forever,a very cool idea.It does not have anywhere near the sound variations of the DVD but has I think 5 loops that can morph from slow to slowest.
Of course, the audio quality is also quite low on anything Itunes. For me,it has to be lossless.
This music is designed to be played at very low levels so do not crank it.It should be barely audible as you drift to sleep.

A bit more news.

This afternoon, Pink Floyd's Facebook page and their website have confirmed the news that broke over the weekend of the forthcoming new album.

They state: "Pink Floyd can confirm that they are releasing a new album The Endless River in October 2014. It is an album of mainly ambient and instrumental music based on the 1993/4 Division Bell sessions which feature David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright. The album is produced by David Gilmour with Phil Manzanera, Youth and recording engineer Andy Jackson. Work is still in progress, but more details to come at the end of the Summer".

Interesting about the Youth comment.Youth of The Orb and Killing Joke.Gilmour did a project with him as The Orb a few years ago (and not very good at that)

I just read there is a new Pink Floyd LP coming out in the Fall.
Based on The Division Bell sessions, modified in 2014 by Gilmour. So featuring 3 of the 4 members.
All instrumental with maybe 1 vocal.
I remember seeing them live in 1994 and the pre show music was about 30 min of ambient sounds.Still ranks as one of the best.
Who would have thought.

Donato Dozzy, this is more minimal/ambient techno in the Kompakt or Moritz Von Oswald vein but I do enjoy the vintage sounding drum machine and sort of aquatic flow.

Those Autumn of Communion releases are quite special.I enjoy 1-3.
Biosphere-Das Subharchord.1 track that is similar in feel to Kraftwerk Radio-Activity.Not been into his latest but still rotate Substrata on a regular basis.
