Wow no chatter about it since September? Sheesh! Cursed Shore is insane with number of Risen there, you can barely get too far before being attacked by lots of them. Mesmer is lvl 80 finally as has been my ele. Working a Guardian now, he's almost 48. Grinding nightly to try and lvl up 1 or 2 levels and farming mats for crafting/bank mats.

Is Sound Forge worth updating from 7.0x? I haven't bothered looking at it since I don't muck around much on it for editing audio. I will have a look to see prices on it now for version umm 10 or so?

I picked up Studio One V2 for ~$200 end of October on a 50% off sale. I am just barely starting to look at it. I am running the 32 bit version so I can slave Ableton Live to it (have not gotten that far yet). It seems to be pretty well received overall and heard very good things on its mastering alone. 2.5 is due out very soon which will add even more functionality to it. I just have to sit down, spend time on the tutorials and manual to wrap my head around things. It is *very* different for me coming from Live back to a traditional DAW package so I will not have things in Live (session view for one, a biggie) and things are done differently or called/named differently coming from Live so it'll be a learning experience. Live 9 is due out Q1 2013 and Suite includes Max4Live (Standard does not BUT if you have prior license you should still be able to use it, and any instruments you bought prior to Live 9 will work in it so it is a hard choice ($299 vs $159 for Suite/Standard (no M4L, missing some instruments/effects (audio to midi for one), and less sound content by a big margin).

So...we'll see how things look in the next few months or so for Live 9. Push however looks cool as hell but is $599....really cool looking controller that'll work w/o LIve but less functionality. Check out the videos at ableton or youtube about Push. I thought about getting neat piece of hardware but can't justify the costs (ROIC) in my opinion.

WOW, sad to hear, and so young....he is what I will be in < 2 wks for age....I better eat my veggies! j/k. Sad news indeed and I am sure he will be missed. My condolences to his family.

Interesting, sounded like something I may have done in the past at the beginning of the first track. I'll check out the others as time permits and perhaps scoop it once I check my paypal funds.

Well started an Ele now (Siren Kometh, mesmer is Madness Kometh) and it's kinda fun to play. Guildies have a char or two at lvl 80 already.....haven't been in as much as I want to (still doing PWI) but there's lots to do (crafting alone is insane) and have to make coin to convert to gold to get items from store vs paying real cash I think (keys to open the black * chests).

Heard Guardian is over-powered but fun to play as well.

Well I got a little time in this weekend. Lvl 12 Norn Mesmer for a character. I am on Stormbluff Isles for world map location. I may be moving it today which I think is the last day of free move. Mobs are a bit harder to kill like during the beta, i.e. ones that are 2 lvls or higher above you can kill you if you don't do the drop/roll/evade moves. And it appears you only have enough energy to do 2 of them at my current level. Not sure if that increases as you level higher. Buddy saw a lvl 80 next to him yesterday....

Grabbed a Great Sword (shoulda kept one that dropped...vs buying) and does magic attacks?! But I picked up 4 skills on it in a short period of time which was interesting. Started on some of the crafting stuff and found that you can access your bank from them as well as from Lions Arch area.

Overall pretty cool but a much larger learning curve IMHO.

Elvish characters? They don't look Elvish to me. Same kind of skill/character setup as the rest. I didn't do much on the Asuran side (I checked out both). Just can't wait till it is officially out next month. I have to probably go read up on character building to understand the choices I make before jumping into it so I have a better idea what to choose depending on class/play type I will be going for initially.

I would say PS3 since if you have Amazon Prime you can watch (free and rent) movies, tv shows, etc...

Why not in middle of battle? You have different mobs showing up that you want to use other skill combos for vs current mobs? But I have to look into the skills and associated sub-skill/rune stuff I guess to get a better grip on doing more damage while taking less damage on my monk. Still can get quite busy lol. haven't played since early last week, maybe tuesday I go back into it.

Well the Monk class is interesting with his aoe skill(s) and getting the npc char in the skeleton king dungeon was good to have because he is tough (for the lvl you are at). Skill switching is something I haven't really done much of because I don't know if it is hotkey-able or not (switch on the fly vs bringing up menu and selecting in middle of battle seems to be a bit dangerous depending the scenario). I guess I'll need to go read up some more on this since the manual is a joke in that respect.

A bit underwhelmed that they are using the same basic interface for movement (no free-form camera like other games). Vomiting zombies lol, fat ones drop worms or whatever when they die so gotta keep distance.

I am playing a wizard atm to see how well she does. Died in dungeon due to 3 fat ones + zombies + bats on my's ok but a) don't like that it has to be online to play single player (i.e. internet connection) but understand why (to a point) and b) disappointed they kept the same style interface, i.e. didn't make it more modern with free-form camera movement to see around yourself, unless I am missing something. Same as D/D2 and after 12 years you would think they'd update the interface at the very least....but it is dark, brooding and still like the music.

Played for about an hour so far.

Well I tried a Charr briefly as well as a Norn and Human. It was interesting, being able to swim and jump. I guess depending how much you worked on leveling very early in this beta depends how you survived some of the tough enemies to solo. I got killed so much I was fighting in my underwear (game char lol) due to armor being decimated from the enemies pummeling me (the burning orphanage) but I did finish it off solo. I didn't team with anyone, think one person rezzed me/healed me out in the grasslands.  Multiple storylines depending on what character you played, etc... Interesting that we get pistols and rifles in it now too. It seemed to be missing a lot of stuff still as I thought this was kind of a limited beta in that respect, not all races could be played for instance. I didn't look into any of the crafting stuff because it appears I'll have to be doing a fair bit of reading to determine which ones to work on depending on the class I play.
