Everything and Nothing / hypnos forum 'banned error' on iPhone ??
« on: June 23, 2012, 08:49:05 AM »
actually i wanted to bring up this issue for a while now. it happens mostly when i stay abroad, like in Asia.
it says; "sorry guest, you are banned from this forum!"

sometimes it helps to 'reset all settings' and delete all history, cache and cookies... but of course it shouldn't be that difficult/elaborate to enter a forum.. :)
what do i wrong or what does iPhone do wrong ??

42
i was also a bit cautious about Haughm influence inhere..
though no worries, it is basically typical Grassow stuff :)

samples here!
http://www.el-culto.com/music/projects/mathiasgrassow/mosaicltdedition.html

i made my order yesterday

that's a good point bringing up.

when i see all that music/plastic piling up here, i feel pretty disgusted with myself..
i need to buy all the things i like.. and all that illegal file-sharing doesn't help either for me. more exposure that way means 'for me' more expenses, cause i simply want the original thing ! that's the problem i'm dealing with, why not being satisfied with a few releases now and then or inexpensive/free downloads..
i'm just 37, what does it look like in 10 years from now, 7000+ CDs at your place....??? is that something to be proud or feeling ashamed of ???
you can only look at it not even talking about playing it...

according to a newsletter by Forced Nostalgia, 'Point of Arrival' gets a CD-issue (for the CD heads) as well.
i think they watch the LP sales of PoA first..

odds and ends over the last few weeks;

bvdub - serenity / don't say you know / the first day (the title track is outstanding!)
steve roach - fever dreams III (had a kind of revival with this, finally starts growing on me..)

amir baghiri - live long & prosper (definately his best!)
yannick franck - memorabilia (good dark droning a la Cyclic Law..)
mathias grassow - aestrata, fata morgana, sky
wicked messenger - dreamer | redeemer (so, so intensely dark and foreboding that its becomes intriguing in some way or another...)
paul schutze & andrew hulme - fell
paul schutze - green evil (terrific compilation of Schutze's work)
federsen - echo relics (i'm eagerly waiting for future work by him, this guy got talent!)
lingua fungi - flowery dreams / tlapallan pantonal
loren chasse - the footpath

now;
bruno sanfilippo - urbs ;-)

anticipating (way too much);

49

amir baghiri - live long & prosper
(yes, this' very good indeed ! speaking about huge shimmering drones..)

mathias grassow - sky
(despite its little mastering glitches, i rate it amongs Grassow's finest)

lungia fungi & shrine - strange growths / wander
(excellent split from both artists, Shrine's contribution is really thrilling, shimmering though apocalyptic sounding)

artificial memory trace - ama_zone1 (black waters)
(fascinating fieldrecordings of the highest order, like being in the middle of a deep tropical swamp)

asc & sam kdc - decayed society
(a real grower for sure, way recommended)

anticipating (lots is coming up, not good for my wallet);

forrest fang - animism (surprise! just noticed it along with a 2CD digipack re-issue of Steve Roach - Day out of Time; http://projekt.com/projekt/product.asp?sku=PRO00274) is it out yet Forrest ??!
dale lloyd - organisms
v.a. - Gyalpo (comp. on Gterma, excerpts (especially the powerful Grassow one) sound very good if you ask me)
mathias grassow - wisdom of fate 2CD (again on Gterma !)
carl weingarten - panomorphia (buy with Carl himself for $11 only !)
tape loop orchestra - the words on my lips is your name..
talvihorros & damian valles - monuments & ruins
hakobune - while shadows sweep across the lawn

51
thanks for the tip, Forrest!

i own this hidden CD by Aglaia under the name 'La Musica E La Mudra' (=Aglaia: http://www.amazon.com/Momenti-Per-Larmonia-Musica-Serenita/dp/B001NA9VEW/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1334728380&sr=8-8) by several years.
it's been released on CD as well, though i can't find it: http://www.discogs.com/Momenti-Per-LArmonia-La-Musica-E-Le-Mudra-I-Gesti-Delle-Mani-Per-La-Serenit%C3%A0/release/1255730
i thinks it's a beauty and sounds like an worthy alternate version of 'Mondi Sensibili'. Only the mastering job here is done pretty bad..

i will definitely check out their other so-called new-agey therapeutic stuff on Amazon.

duane pitre - feel free
(very good disc, actually 1 track divided in 5 parts, beautiful engaging acoustics at play,such as guitar, dulcimer, harp, violin, contrabass, cello)

asher - landscape studies
(beautiful MP3 release, my warming up for his new 2-part Untitled Landscapes)

bvdub - serenity/don't say you know
(addictive and uplifting throughout, especially i'm taken by the vocals, though some parts i don't understand..)

mulm - the end of greatness
(maybe the best i've heard on Cyclic..)

asc & sam kdc - decayed society
(definitely OK, would fit nicely on Silent Season as well..)

36 - bass communion remixed by 36
(absolutely deep & gorgeous, should be released on CD, though that will never happen)

anticipating:

david tagg - hand of clovers (yes!!)
shrine - somnia
en - already gone
mathias grassow - dammerung CD & uttarakuru 2CD
seaworthy - bellows & breath

Jdh,
i'm also anxious about the SRF, i just placed my order a few minutes ago :)
though i hope not every track is filled with that pilot/atc speaking..

about Gterma, i think the prices are pretty fair. They can also save you on shipping costs by sending out CDs without plastic jewel cases.
I agree the Urenga is really good (aka Indo) and i was struck by the other release from Undara as well, this' tribal atmospheric stuff of the highest order imo! Think of a kind of revival of Suspended Memories..

Last night i spend time with;

alio die & antonio testa - reverie
(one that does grow on you, quiet lingering zither's, fieldrecordings, a real hot/humid summers' night soundtrack..)

alio die & lingua fungi - otter songs
(yes i've been waiting for this moment, Alio Die take a 'deep' dive back into darker mystic realms which i've been missing a bit along all his recent 'lighter' stuff..)

also anticipating;

robert turman - flux (gamelan/kalimba tunings from another exotic forgotten world..)
kyle bobby dunn - bring me the head of kyle bobby dunn 2CD
shrine - somnia (cyclic law)
duane pitre - feel free
stefano pilia - strings
cory allen & steinbruchel - seam

Dave, that 36's Lithea CD is a real beauty !!
i'm glad i grabbed a copy as it's almost OOP (see his bandcamp)

now listening to the latest Gterma's:

urenga - after rain (excellent dubtechno with fieldrecordings)
undara - traveller (still listening, but so far excellent compilation of atmospheric tribal ambient)
36 - lithea (one of those CDs that really takes me there..)

anticipating;

sleep research facility - stealth 2CD
grouper - A I A (2CD reissue on Kranky!)
monos - age & transformation (new 2CD on the excellent Infraction)
yellow6 & thisquietarmy - death valley (2CD issue)

all 2CDs i see now   :D

joachim nordwall - ignition
(don't read a thing about this, as it was a favorite of mine of last year, Boomkat put it nicely; butchness and bite, monkishly reserved ambience..)

Michael Stearns - Lyra
(exceptional release from Stearns, definitely far ahead of its time. i wish he did more things like this)

Indo - Winter in Zangla
(real cool droning, i've been playing this for 4 times on a row today!)

alio die & mariolina zitta - la sala dei cristalli
(starts realize this is good work, darker and grittier than Alio Die's recent output which is imo a good thing)

alio die - pure and deconsecrated
(the 1st 3 tracks are really excellent, the last 2 tracks got me a bit less..)

bvdub - serenity

conforce - machine conspiracy
(can't get enough of this, fantastic well-crafted dub-techno with a classic feel)

elodie - la lumiere parfumee
(beautiful release from Andrew Chalk, a bit more experimental at times but still quite touching..)

david monacchi - eco-acoustic compositions
(still need to spend more time with, as the title says processed fieldrecordings with sometimes a hidden drone or tone here and there..)

waiting for my arrival of a new Aidan Baker 2CD 'Loop Studies'
the bandcamp full streaming sounds very tasty to me !
http://aidanbaker.bandcamp.com/album/loop-studies

listening today to Parikrama & new Indo, very cool music.
Indo has a nice distinct sense for drone on this disc.
i have to say that A.P's mastering job is a good one !

i'm surprised as well to hear from Mr Bvdub that Steve Roach is his nr.1 influence,
from the interview i think you can regard him as a very friendly, OK guy!

his latest 2 discs fromn Darla are more beat (or even club-) oriented, not sure yet what to think of those..
but these certainly have a rather nice optimistic vibe throughout..

59
still really enjoying Gterma's recent output!
and just checking Gterma release schedule; http://gterma.blogspot.com/p/our-releases.html

i think all 3 upcoming CDs do sound interesting..

Havdis produces beautiful tranquil soundscapes (check here! http://soundcloud.com/havdis)
Urenga is a kind of rather nice and fresh mix of ambient-dub with tropical fieldrecording, i like the mixture.
Undara, sounds good either so far, a bit in the vein of Brian Parnham or even.. the legendary Suspended Memories..

i realize i do a bit of spamming, but i think these are worth to mention.
Gterma is on a good roll, if you ask me

today mainly the new stuff from Gterma & Celer;

parikrama - the silent bon
(better than i thought.. i think a perfect companion to Psychomanteum's Oneironaut (Cyclic), similar mood/spheres)

indo - winter in zangla
(still listening to get a proper impression, so far quite OK, thick droning with some processed gongs along the way..)

chubby wolf - on burnt, gauzed wings (from Ornitheology)
(not releasing this on CD-format would be 'very' serious ambient-crime!)

celer - honey moon
(excellent release once again! beautiful, intimate drone poetry..)

mathias grassow - alchemystery
(listening to it now, so far so gooood..)

now awaiting the new Alio Die's & Aglaia's, though Discogs has nice previews on them!
