The 2nd piece is Steve Roach's "The Unbroken Promise" originally released on a 1993 artist compilation, "The Promises of Silence" on Projekt. It is available on "Truth and Beauty: Lost Pieces Volume 2" along with "Aftermath".
This is exciting news. I was at this concert. Biff Johnson set the performance up through some Tower Records connections (He and I both worked there at the time). It took place at a high-end stereo store in front of a relatively small audience. I remember Steve saying it was like having a bunch of folks in the Timeroom watching him at work. Cool!
I thought of Jim as well when that post appeared. Earlier I had stumbled upon some of his reviews and was remembering when I met him at the Steve Roach/Jorge Reyes show in Tucson years ago. What a nice guy and definitely an avid supporter of the music! It was wonderful that he created and released his own before his passing.
I'm going! I am thrilled to be returning to Tucson and seeing folks again a decade after my last visit for Steve's show with Jorge Reyes. I love that part of the world and of course, what's not to love about the show?!!!!! Cool to be HOT again!!!!
Currently I am working on ambient projects with Lisa Walker, whose release "The Grooved Whale" was well received in 2002 (http://www.groovedwhale.com/music/grooved-whale-reviews) and Alcvin Ryuzen Ramos. An offshoot of my work with Alcvin has been a trio that blends shakuhachi flute, taiko and western percussion and electric bass and electronics.
Lucette just released another title on Earth Mantra, this time a collaboration with Darrell Burgan (Palancar) called, "Samhata". Shortly before she released "Rumors From Cypress Town", also on Earth Mantra. I quite enjoy her music!
