I discovered Audela via Myspace and have this, it's a great album, must remember to get his other one, 39 Mysterons, at some point

Darren,
I was at a gig in Dundee yesterday and saw that CDS had 3 Ken Martin Cds in their racks, Psychic beacons, Spheres and another I can't remember. their website is http://www.cd-services.com/ but it doesn't seem to be kept up to date, so I'd recommend emailing them
Jez

Thanks for the lead, but CDS seems impossible to get ahold of these days. I've emailed them over the last few years regarding their catalog & no reply. The fact that they were tabling at a recent gig is interesting as I had presumed they had shuttered operations a number of years back. Nevertheless, if at first, yada yada...I'll give 'em another electronic shout & see what happens...be nice to score those 3 discs you mention above. :)

CDS are definitely still going, but they seem to do a lot of their business via their mailing lists, perhaps a phone call would be better, cos thye could have more stuff as they wouldn't have brought all their stock

What would you suggest I look at for a main synth?  Apart from the andromeda, which is my first choice, but seems to be impossible to get, outside of waiting till January 2009.

the andromeda seems to be the best choice, and would seem to have much greater depths than the P '08

I wanted something analogue, multi-timbral, with lots of depth. The only other thing I was considering before I found my friend was selling his A6, was a PolyEvolver

Its limited polyphony may not suit you, but it's also a very powerful synth.

For a main synth, the P '08's lack of multi-timbrality might be a problem.

I've recently bought a used one and really like it. It's a mighty complex beast and has great range and the ribbon is extremely nice for performance modulations

this board has a different karma system to mine, on mine you have total that goes up or down as you are given positive/negative karma respectively, and as admin I can see who has done so.

I would let it run for a while and see how it goes, as it will probably take time to bed in

I have a small forum which features a similar sort of karma system and mostly it works OK

Generally people don't use the negative karma much, but use positive karma as a way of saying thanks for positive contributions, or to provide 'karmic' support for those in need
