Eeem - Peregrenation and Ishvara - Under a Hexagon Sky ......... Been on permanent rotation here. Both are really superb. So glad to have discovered both. Thanks for the Ishvara tip Chris. Much appreciated.

Also just listening to Riverside - Love, Fear And The Time Machine on spotify. Obviously non- ambient but just wanted to mention it as it really is a cracker. Some beautiful melodic prog from a band I need to listen to more often. When I heard Second Life System on release, a good few years ago now, it completely blew me away.

Now checking out Onyx on cryochamber. This is sounding very good indeed !!! Looking forward to hearing track 6 ;)

Sinepearl - Cycles within Cycles Within
Nice electronic music with a spiritual, chilled, and psychedelic vibe. There are some great tracks on here. He has a new one coming out soon; I'm looking forward to the release.

Andrew Heath - Flux
I'm really enjoying this one a lot. It is a bit like taking an audio tour through a curio cabinet full of unusual sounds, contemplating each one for a bit, and moving on. Great use of field recordings, simple synth pads, and piano. Quiet, subtle, and immersive.

Wil Bolton - Inscriptions
This is one of my favorites of his recent releases. It has a bit of an older Marsen Jules vibe (looped acoustic sequences) that I really appreciate. The recording is based on processed guitar, environmental sounds, and some light glitchy dusting. On dronarivm.

Mick Chillage - Pixels III
The third in the long-form Pixels series, on Anodize. This is excellent. It is essentially four movements that are woven into one another sequentially. The second quarter is a bit on the dark side (soundtrack to a bloody awful stabbing), but the rest of it is truly outstanding.

Soundtrack to a stabbing?  Hmm okay... :o

Anyone keen on Eno's Shutov Assembly and Neroli should check out New Composers "Boring Music" on Psychonavigation label.  A more traditional ambient work than the NC and Eno "Smart" album.  Lovely stuff.

Josh Mason - Hellified Isle
An interesting release from Fet Press. A short paperback book, containing reflections on growing up near the ocean, musings on recording, and general nostalgia. The book is accompanied by a download code that contains some of Mason's trademark glitchy guitar meanderings, along with some surf-music style riffs. Really unique and interesting.

Following recommendation elsewhere .......

Amir Baghiri - Planet X, Live Long And Prosper, Orbital Repose.

These three are all deep spacey warm ambient and are absolutely excellent. This artist is also into tribal and more beat driven stuff apparently, which is not so much my thing these days. The above three highly recommended. Beautiful music.

I have a couple of his more tribal albums, still very good - mixing in ambient sounds as well as the drums etc.

I would highly recommend True North with Mathias Grassow - very cold sounding.

Thanks for the tip Andy. Seems a bit tricky to get any legal online downloads for True North. Just listened to The Man From Aran on YouTube and the sample at Groove. Very interesting cold dark artic sounds. Atmospheric indeed.

NP The Angling Loser - Author of the Twilight.
