Sans Serif -- Tones for LaMonte. Minimal music, with somewhat metallic shimmers in my view. Most intriguing! Thanks Forest!   :)

Klaus Wiese -- Perfume. Happy to have this album from this beloved musician.

Oophoi -- Upuaut. Another fine Oophoi album, everything that I expect.    8)

Robert Carty -- Starlight Volume 3. It is stargazing music, without question.

Steve Roach - Mystic Chords & Sacred Spaces

Disc 2 & 3 ... in the last half year or so this has become my holy grail of ambient music.

Hey ambient789, thanks!  Glad you liked it.  I'm sure I'll revisit this side project at some point.  Two years seems like an eternity ago!

My listening tonight - Peter Wright - Dissolving Into Light (the 2 CDR + DVDr version)(sorry, can't seem to get enough of this guy; I picked up the other box version, too)
Paul Schutze - The Annihilating Angel

Judas Priest, Stained Class - never thought I would say this, but Judas Priest really destroys on this one...

Harold Budd & Clive Wright- Candylion.  This is freakin' beautiful, man.  :)  They have like 3 albums out now together and make a great duo.  The samples of their latest Little Windows sound just as impressive, and varied enough from the previous- may have to get that one too as Budd seems like he's still making nice ambient music, and Wright is no second fiddle.   On Candylion guitar work ranges from long and twangy to more sustained, Robert Fripp-like wails...

Candylion is the most cohesive and the best IMO, though all three are essential for even quasi-completists. Shame the title had already been used by the Super Furry Animals!

andrew chalk - ghost of nakhodka
(another fine new Chalk disc, short simple pieces, sometimes processed, sometimes only acoustic!)

harold budd & clive wright - little windows
(from beginning to end all the way excellent like their 2 previous ones)

christopher hipgrave - slow, with pages of fluttering interference
(if you liked Celer's Nacreous Clouds CD, you are garanteed to like/love this one as well!)

paul schutze - green evil

paul schutze - the surgery of touch
(as i had last year, re-discovering VidnaObmana's work, i'm having a great time with Schutze's work recently.. from gamelan-ish ambience to outer-space jazz, so yeah, i like the man's work)

francisco lopez - lopez island
(not sure if he's brilliant or just a bit overrated, but this one is quite nice though..)

steve roach & jorge reyes - vine, bark & spore
(an all-time favorite of mine, just perfect and timeless)

danny paul grody - fountain
(simple but beautiful pieces, a favorite from the Rootstrata label)

anticipating;
taylor deupree - shoals
jan bang - ..and the poppies of kandahar
steve roach - sigh of ages
thomas koner - 3CD re-issue!!

A good morning's worth of album shuffle so far...

Pleq, Our Words Are Frozen

Pascal Savy, Silent Watcher

Dave Fulton & Giles Reaves, The Range

Made the first part of the work day slide quietly by....

And starting the afternoon with Wharmton Rise's "Contrary Emotion." Nice uptempo borderline New Agey stuff, but with a bit of late-TD heritage.

Hey Jim02,

What are the releases you refer to in your reference to a Thomas Koner - 3CD re-issue?

The ones coming out one by one on vinyl first on Type? Do you know more about these CD re-issues?

Forrest Fang- Phantoms  -  Sublime as expected.  Like Gongland, nice concept and album.  Nothing not to like here, really.

Evan Marc "Bluetech" & Steve Hillage- Dreamtime Submersible -  engaging set of ambient dub, or ambient house, not sure exactly what this is, but slightly more of a steady, pulsing tempo than the bluetech lazy reggae-dub pace.  Not too active though, still good for the background, and two good collaborative artists.  Fans of Yagya would probably like this one.

Steve Roach- Fever Dreams 3 -  Haven't listened much to disc 1 yet, but the second disc Melted Mantra I suspect is the real standout here- good dose of slow, varied percussion, the 'glurpy' techno oozings of the first Fever Dreams, but the trademark guitar shimmers of the series are actually the best yet and the part that melds this long, single track together.

...the ringing in my ears from last night's Buzzcocks concert.

...and Nils Petter Molvaer's excellent "Hamada".

Last week I revisited the Infraction re-release of "World Receiver" and am glad I kept it!
