Listening to two recent mixes...

Marooned by Harry Towell(Spheruleus) - is a 77 minute mix that uses 60 tracks!  You can download it here... http://www.archive.org/details/MaroonedvolumeOneMixedByHarryTowell

Everything Old by Brian Bieniowski - great collection of old & new music, all with a similar pulse(until it drifts off near the end).  Download it here... http://www.asphalteden.com/?p=59

As of late....

Nerae - Atomon - Self-Released - CD-R
(Some Japanese drone assemblage of four....rather aquatic "dronescrapes"...you know the one's Mystery Sea is always releasing...I believe the group has some ties with Daisuke Suzuki from Siren records....yes Andrew Chalk and Monos drones are in abundance!!  I liked so much I picked up another disc from them that is untitled but has what I believe to be the landscape of Tokyo on the cover)

Chemins. - Volumes 2-4 - Self Released - CD-R
(Yes more drones of the David Jackman, Colin Potter, And Daren Tate variety...once again I like this a lot...was not expecting much from this outfit...but an allure or something keeps bringing me back to these discs....every listen i've discovered something new....rather spontaneous drones with a mixture of odd found sounds and improv....once again reccomeneded if English drone puzzles are to your liking...and very cheap!!!)

The Cosmic Serpent - The Cosmic Renovation & The End Of Time - Fang Bomb - Cassette
(Ah yes....more on the Emeralds, Oneohtrix Point Never....but definetly reminds me of toned down Dolphins Into The Future...limited so you should go pick it as I have a feeling this artist is really going to make it...I have a CD-R from the artist that came in some strange tin aluminum case...not very good though...but this one is freaking gorgeous....reminds me of music released on the Manikin label out of Germany...Thomas Fanger and Schonwallder type stuff but more droney...how could you go wrong with that)

Rapoon-Dream Circle (new reissue). Great!

Fanger & Schonwalder-Analog Overdose 2. Haunting, ultra-smooth modern Berlin School ambient.

Kubusschnitt-Entropy's Evolution.  With Gert Emmens as a member, this sounds more like an Emmens solo album.  Ruud Heij's input seems dwarfed, but nonetheless very good album.

A.Die/Parallel Worlds-Circo Divino. Exquisite.

Steve Brand-Because We Were Once Covered in Gold. Excellent space music release.

Steve Brand/Disturbed Earth-Busy with Dreams. Dark drone, very industrial feel bordering on "harsh" at times.  Not for the casual listen, but good stuff nonetheless.

The Reegs- The Reegs Collection. Ex-Chameleons guitarists' project.  Essential dream rock.

Sorry I haven't posted in the now listening thread in forever... I tend to just post my np posts to twitter anymore.   I'll annoy you with a series of them... ;-)

np 3rd spin: At Dawn's Harbor on @luxusarctica #netlabel - excellent! Includes @CarlSagansGhost @SpectaCiera @saffronslumber Ehrler Vogel

Eno - On Land + a/c on full + road noise = Eno listening as it was intended. Sort of. ;-) Inspiring regardless.

np: Nettless - Phobos and Deimos on Earth Mantra #netlabel - an expansive 2+ hour #ambient album I enjoy. http://ning.it/aIvMB6

np: adamned.age - whiteout. Excellent music from @PublicSpacesLab #netlabel - Hanne's music connects with me. @adamnedage

Radian - Juxtaposition. What a fantastic mix. Bass player, drummer, controlled feedback, digital glitchery, restrained minimal. Love it.
As far as very controlled musical use of feedback... Radian nails it on this album. And anyone that's heard my music knows I love feedback

np: Datacide - Flowerhead with a tip of the hat to @kinosport for recommending it to me years ago.

np: Janne Hanhisuanto - Icescapes on Earth Mantra #netlabel - this is my first listen to this. So far: quiet, subdued, piano, soundscape

np: Herbie Hancock - Headhunters. Classic through and through.

np: Lucette Bourdin - Rumors From Cypress Town - my first spin, but heard several excellent tracks on StillStream. Earth Mantra #netlabel

np: I've Lost - Dissociative Fugue - utterly stunning beautiful ambient release on @feedbacklooplab #netlabel - seriously, this is great!

np: Beed and Fascia - Mans and Animals - minimal drone deep memories touching repeating disintegrating slowly moving cobwebs.

Loving all the @PublicSpacesLab PS020 video previews and build-up! http://lab.pubspaces.com

np: Dreamhub - Moments in Space #ambient Earth Mantra #netlabel http://ning.it/9AK810

np: Max Richter - The Blue Notebooks... so mournful, beautiful, emotional.

np: Shubtle - Collect on @audiocastp #netlabel electronic idm mix some good moments http://ning.it/aW1Q9j @shubtle

np: Rush - Moving Pictures

I'll have a bit of catchup too:

Oophoi: Whispers from the Noisy Void

Much "darker" from his other releases in my view, and I have a lot of them! It makes me think if David Parsons had recorded "Dorje Ling" on another planet on the other side of the universe it would sound somewhat like "Noisy Void."

Antonio Testa: Inframundis

Love the "organic" sounds in this recording. I didn't know that stalagmites could be musical!

Mathias Grassow: Calibration

Didn't enjoy the first track. The rest is alright. I haven't really heard all that much from him. I don't know if he tends towards darker moods as a rule or not.

You're welcome Anthony, I'm glad you like it :)

Did you happen to get that Cubiculo EP? That's almost as good.

Yes, many thanks again Joe. I've played it less, but its a very precious little ep.
Think I might prefer it over the Hessien.
I love its grainy/organic feel, and that its more ambient, less overtly rhythmic than previous Maps & D output.

k. leimer - degraded certainties
(glad that Brian mentioned his name, that made me order a fine bunch of Palace of Lights / Leimer CDs, check Wayside Music or check out their 2007 4CD Box which i just ordered, btw this 2010 Leimer CD is just gorgeous!)

steve roach - sigh of ages
(a very good Roach release, though i think that track 'Return of the Majestic' is a bit out of the overall context of the CD or just too long..)

amon - foundation
(a 2CD-set of deep dark dusty outer-space drones in the vein of Oophoi & Tau Ceti, still digging this)

vir unis - the drift inside
(a timeless aquatic ambient-classic!)

chubby wolf - ornitheology
(absolutely gorgeous in every way, very moving. this kind of sound is right up my very alley, why the hell they put this out on cassette?????)

vikki jackman - whispering pages
(re-visiting this one after Joe R's recent Chalk obsession, he should check out this one!)

anticipating;

celer - panoramic dreams bathed in seldomness
brian parnham - the broken silence (re-issue)
grasslung - sincere void
thomas koner - 3CD triptych
3 upcoming Alio Die CDs in october!
