Enjoying a handful of Infraction CDs

Kiln - Thermals
Ben Fleury Steiner - Keep a weather eye open
Koda - Movements
Tetsu Inoue - World Receiver
Alio Die & Aglaia -  Private History of the Clouds

I know the early works of Inoue. Great stuff! But the other releases I don't know.

Dolphins Into The Future - On Sea - Faring Isolation. Nice little unusual, watery, Psychedelic Dolphin Ambient album.
Seefeel - Succour. Classic dark, atmospheric, Dubby, clanking Electronica from the mid 90`s.

I just recently came across the Infraction label http://www.infractionrecords.com  Strikes me as somewhere between Hypnos & 12k, if your not familiar with them.  Beautiful cd design and packaging!

One of my favorite 'rock' albums ever.  Just perfect in every way.  You can get free live versions of every track at their website; the live version of Duress is absolutely stunning.

Swervedriver, Ride, Sianspheric, and Colfax Abbey were in constant rotation on long road trips back in the day.  Great stuff!

- Pjusk :: sval  (12K)
- The Sight Below :: It All Fall Apart (very grainy/noise based, occasionally dubby)
- Brian McBride :: Effective Disconnect (brilliant!)

Ourson - Warming Plant. Found this on Bandcamp and it`s very nice, atmospheric, minimal and evocative. Very good.
Woob - 1194. Missed this classic in the 90`s so I`m glad I stumbled across it yesterday.

Inade - the Crackling of the Anonymous.  Very claustrophobic.  Rattles the subwoofer; my dogs think there's a thunderstorm coming.

Seefeel - self-tltled.  An odd one; the repetitive looped guitars are there, and the lazy beats, and the beautiful female vocals - but this time, it's very glitchy and off-kilter.  Like "Quique" playing on a filthy cassette tape while an Oval disk plays in the background.  It's really growing on me, especially "making" and "airless".  An interesting direction for these guys; I approve.

Rapoon - Wasteland Raga.  Much less loopy than his earlier works; very hushed and subdued in spots.  It closes with a return to form much in the vein of Fallen Gods, but with ever-increasing delay added as it turns into sonic mush.  I've lost track of Rapoon for the past few years; I might have to go back and catch up.

Pascal Savy- The Silent Watcher; A gently psychedelic ambient thing, with lots of minute field recordings. It's very good, and rather brooding and "uneasy", though it's difficult to say what gives it the uneasy feeling.

SubtractiveLAD - Kindred.  Brilliant album, I reckon it`s his best yet and it`ll definately be in my top 5 by the end of the year.

Monolyth & Cobalt- Rives; Strange, lo-fi landscapes/drones with a multitude of different instruments, including harmonium, piano, synths, glitches, processed voices, and even occasional drumming. Very fascinating! A low-key but restless dose of musical dada/surrealism.

Mathias Grassow - Deeper Purity (somewhat brief (about 40 minutes), but has some really nice dronework on it; very pleasant)

Stephan Mathieu - remain - very nice hour-long drone.
Earth - angels of darkness, demons of light 1 - fabulous melancholy post-rock, with tons of reverb & slow, slumberous rhythms.
Kyle Bobby Dunn - Pour Les Octaves - two excellent sleep inducing pieces.
Field Rotation - acoustic tales - neo-classical? modern classical?  who knows, but some nice instrumentals with acoustic instruments that occasionally have an electronic feel.

Igneous Flame - Ion  (started listening to this last night; a mighty fine release, especially over phones, sort of like Grassow on steroids; nice going, Pete!)

Just ordered Mathieu's latest on Line and 12K, so I'm looking forward to hearing them, too.  His Radioland release will be hard to top.

New, and overdue ...

- Deaf Center :: Owl Splinters

Ranges from Hecker-like noise to delicate Satie piano.
All very well done.

A friend at work is just discovering Pink Floyd so our discussions led me to give some Floyd a spin for the first time in a long while...

Atom Heart Mother
Obscured by Clouds
The Dark Side of the Moon
Animals

Good stuff :)
