Rapoon-Stray (Soleilmoon) It's good. Storey's usually hit and miss with me. This one's more "hit" than "miss."

Gustaf Hildebrand-Heliopause (Cyclic Law). This one is definitely essential headphone listening. Spooky deep space stuff here.

Aglaia-Out of the Way (Hic Sunt Leones). Limited CDR, just as good as the other two new ones. I'd say this one is the most Eno-esque and melodic of the three.

Dave, that 36's Lithea CD is a real beauty !!
i'm glad i grabbed a copy as it's almost OOP (see his bandcamp)

urenga - after rain (excellent dubtechno with fieldrecordings)
undara - traveller (still listening, but so far excellent compilation of atmospheric tribal ambient)
36 - lithea (one of those CDs that really takes me there..)

grouper - A I A (2CD reissue on Kranky!)
monos - age & transformation (new 2CD on the excellent Infraction)

Thanks for the heads up on SRF,his last one is a real favorite. Did you order direct from Cold Spring?
Never heard of Gterma,listened to urenga,cool.Where do you find that,Grassow on there too.
Always becomes expensive ordering to Canada from UK/Europe.

Never heard of 36 before this. Impressive soundclips, so I ordered all three CD's. Thanks for the mention everybody!

Currently:

Pjusk-Tele (Glacial Movements). Another awesome GM release. This label just gets better and better. I love Pjusk's two previous albums on 12k and this one maintains their high caliber of icy organic tone poems. For the uninitiated, think early 80's Eno meets Biosphere, with lots of cool field recordings.

Pete Namlook-Music for Urban Meditation IV (Fax). Pete goes dark ambient n' drone on this one. Very nice release, I was surprised how good this is considering I didn't care for the first three at all.

Alio Die-Deconsecrated and Pure (Projekt). Gorgeous ambient church musick. Stefano hits the mark again.

i'm also anxious about the SRF, i just placed my order a few minutes ago

though i hope not every track is filled with that pilot/atc speaking..

about Gterma, i think the prices are pretty fair. They can also save you on shipping costs by sending out CDs without plastic jewel cases.
I agree the Urenga is really good (aka Indo) and i was struck by the other release from Undara as well, this' tribal atmospheric stuff of the highest order imo! Think of a kind of revival of Suspended Memories..

I grabbed this as well, and have been enjoying the other 3six tracks. The Bass Communion remixes are also very good. Highly recommended.

- Bonobo: Black Sands (title track -- worth its weight in pressed latinum)
- lots of Tim Hecker (hit and miss, but when good can be exceedingly good)
- a couple by Kwook (delightful and so musical)
- Namlook: Planetarium (still not sure)
- Within Reason: Subtle Shift (first couple of listens. Competent dubby stuff)
- Near the Parenthesis: Japanese for Beginners (some fine tracks)

I too went out for a walk in a fairly remote spot on Easter Sunday and sat with the sounds of the natural world for about 20 minutes - it was medicine for the soul. The opportunities to do this are few and far between these days (unfortunately).

Part 1 is such a great piece. That soft outro begs to be played louder.
After a dark descend, slowly but surely you arrive at a magical place where time stands still. It's the very core of existence. What a defining moment for Steve Roach. In a few minutes it expresses what all his music is about.
