- Blodwyn Pig : A Head Rings Out.  70s again. Has one of the greatest tracks ever on it.
Another one of my favorites. Mick Abrahams and Jack Lancaster.

Urenga-Eclipse Seamount.  This is an excellent ambient dub techno release on download (got it for $5.99 on iTunes).  This artist has a release on the Gterma label also called "After Rain."  Highly recommend to fans of Yagya and the Silent Season label.

Within Reason-Subtle Shift.  Really cool side-project of Gregory Kyryluk of Alpha Wave Movement.  Some ambient dub along with modern electronica styles.

KS - Mirage. I'm always amazed how well this album reflects my emotional state. If I'm relaxed it is very relaxing. If I am agitated.....

Kevin Kendle-Deep Skies series.  Kendle is a "new age" musician from UK who has done some really deep, spectacular space music on his "Deep Skies" series, where he melds stratospheric synths with a guest guitarist who plays in the Steve Hillage glissando style.  For thet most part it's quiet, mellow, drifting, melodic space ambient.  Fans of Jonn Serrie, Michael Stearns, RS Thompson, Telomere, etc. will be right at home here.  There are four volumes: to my ears the second and third (Lagoon of Eternity, Light from the Pleiades) are the best.  Don't think I've ever read any mention of him here on the Forum.  I recommend hearing the sample clips of this series on his site if interested!

Aglaia - Absolutely Deep
Beautiful, organic, drifting ambient. My favorite Aglaia release since their first.

Goldmund - The Maladay of Elegance
Solemn and evocative piano compositions from Keith Kenniff

Senking - Pong
from Raster Noton. No frills electronic with some nice bass tones that vibrate my bones.

Birds of Passage - Winter Lady
Slow moving ambient textures and beautiful, almost whispered female vocals. Reminds me a bit of Formaria/Pete Kelly's Eight Shades of Sound (a favorite of mine), but less ethereal and more haunting.

Saul Stokes - Outfolding & Zo Pilots  -  Pulled both of these out after being reminded of them from JKN's review in another forum thread.  Holy crap these are fantastic albums!!  I love all the sounds in them but I think it's the unique percussion sounds that really get me.

Steve Roach - The Dream Circle  -  One of my favorite Roach albums.  I usually listen at bed time.  Repetative enough to lull me to sleep but varied enough to engage me when I want it to.

Loops of Your Heart - And Never Ending Nights  -  Axel Willner usually records as The Field.  He goes all T-Dream on this release.  Expect tons of sequencers & loops & vintage sounding synths.  It's obvious what his inspiration is and he pulls off this homage perfectly.  One of my favs so far this year.

FUTURESEQUENCE - Sequence 4  -  Free compilation of electronic music with 42 tracks!  Artists like Loscil, I've Lost, Hakobune, Pleq, Radere, Wil Bolton and more.  You can download it here...http://www.futuresequence.com/releases/sequence-four/

I've been on a Thin Lizzy kick lately.  I got into them in the mid 90's, then recently "rediscovered" them and made my own compilation of iTunes tracks.  They had so many other great songs besides Jailbreak and Boys Are Back in Town!  Phil Lynott was such a great songwriter.  Really sad how the drugs killed him at only age 36.  Also been watching a lot of old footage, interviews, etc. on YouTube.

Did you know that MIDGE URE of Ultravox played guitar at one point with Thin Lizzy?  I never knew this!!!

Also,

Peter Gabriel-Plays Live.  Possibly the greatest live album of all time.  Arguably he was at the peak of his artistic career here '(82-'83), even though he went on to have "hits" later on.  There is an amazing documentary on YouTube done by UK tv on the making of his "Security" album, which I watched recently...

Midge Ure toured with Thin Lizzy, before that he was with Rich Kids ( including Glen Matlock of the Sex Pistols) and was even offered before John Lydon role of lead singer in the Sex Pistols. Then of course went on to join  Visage and Ultravox and was involved with Live Aid.Then fell off the map after 1985.
Back again with a new Ultravox record and tour.
Arjen Schat,got his name from Gertma,on Bandcamp,great drone,clearly influenced by Grassow .
Bandcamp is quite good for downloads. Most of the artists are obscure but I like the idea of been able to chose any format, including ALAC or FLAC at no extra charge.
