Avalon Sutra is one of my favorites too. Wasn't that billed as his "last album" when it was released?

Moskitoo - Mitosis
A unexpected Christmas gift from a family member. Japanese experimental pop meets ambient, from 12k.

Yep, it was. However, as all of us probably know already, he didn't retire after that.

Offthesky and Pillow Garden - A Dream in a Dream
This is a digital EP from 2011 on the Audio Gourmet netlabel. This is excellent. It isn't typical of Offthesky's work and reminds me a lot of some of Alio Die's more majestic cathedral-style drone work. Check this out.

Harold Budd--Budd Box.  This is a wonderful box compiling his Opal/All Saints releases, 7 discs with amazing 70 page booklet full of interviews and liner notes.  All Saints is reissuing a lot of stuff now like Roger Eno and Laraaji.  There is some previously unreleased Laraaji material.  Wonder if it's any good (?)

stormloop - Arctic Conditions
Downloaded this today, thanks to a "name your price" sale that Kev Spence is hosting on Bandcamp. It is excellent; I wish I had picked up the CD before it sold out. Slow moving and expansive synth soundscapes.

Ithaca Trio - Music for Piano & Patience
Two 30-minute piano tracks. Simple and straight-forward, right? Despite the apparent simplicity, this is an absolutely mesmerizing and complex album. The improvised piano tracks are looped and layered on top of one another, using multiple channels, and recorded to a degrading reel-to-reel tape. The result is ghostly and hypnotic. I love this.
