Ashtoreth's Gate-Shadow of the Bowman
The Ashes of Piedmonte-Winter's Fire.
I followed a link through Bandcamp and found this fellow, Lee Anthony Norris.Never heard of him but there are plenty of projects he is involved with.Quite beautiful some of them and well recorded.A bit Alio Die or Fax 1995.
Been in a FAX mood recently so-
2350 Broadway,Silence 3,From Within(all original CD versions)1 Year since Peter passed,what a talent.

Wow, great music in your post there jdh  8) especially the FAX !!

I have bought much of Lee Anthony Norris' work over the past year. Started with Autumn of Communion 1 on FAX and many purchases later the new Moss Garden just this week ( stunning  8))

Check out his "The Angling Loser" work, if you haven't already. One of my albums of the year.

Current play - Gert Emmens and Ruud Heij - Lost In The Swamp.

Excellent ambient, melodies and sequences in the mix of this album.

I've been hunting down samples from various "favorites of 2013" lists and discovering lots of neat things. I appreciate everyone taking the time to highlight some of their favorites from the year!

Gert Emmens and Ruud Heij - The Sculpture Garden

Material Object and Phonaut - Indiana Drones ........ the album due to be released on FAX but Pete passed on  :(. Extensive ambient soundscapes, a real grower this album.

NP Moss Garden -  In the Silence of the Subconscious, just ordered from Carpe Sonum and listening to the download..........FANTASTIC  8)

I'm streaming this now and like it. The sixth track is virtually identical to "The Sunken Land" from Norris's Datura Notes release as The Ashes of Piemonte, however. Weird.

Just checked these two tracks ............................great stuff to chill to  8)

4) The Sunken Land 19.55m
6) Daily Catachresis 4.46m

It's like track 6) is an extension of the sunken land but in a different key with subtle differences in the melodic structure. Also has different background sounds going on. Interesting comparison though and can definitely see where you are coming from there.

Interesting  ;) :D

They are both great tracks.

Spheruleus - Voyage

Excellent electro-acoustic ambient that serves as a soundtrack of sorts for a doomed nautical voyage.

Tobias Hellkvist - Everything is Connected (Home Normal 2012)
Beautiful, rich, and sophisticated drone work from Sweden. This works really well with headphones. There is an excellent 4/4 track thrown into the mix that fades in and out in a seamless way.

Checked that out. Nice album, like the concept also.

Currently playing;

The Angling Loser - Silent Authors Of Texture, remixes of the Author Of the Twighlight album, by assorted colleagues of Lee Anthony Norris. Like a completely different album altogether. Equally magnificent !! I really like this music  ;) 8)

offthesky vs Kinder Scout - The Curio Collection
No clue how to describe this. Experimental ambient soundscapes based mostly on field recordings, cello, violin, guitar, banjo, vibes, mellotron, flute, and sparse vocals. Fun listening. From Home Normal, 2012.

I'm fired up for the new Alio Die release. Listening today to a number of vocal-infused Alio Die albums, such as Apsaras, Eleusian Lullaby, Mei-Jyu, and Aura Seminalis.
