Thanks for the Tattersail update Chris.

I think you might like "She possessed the . . ." quite a bit, Anthony. You might also really dig Falling Silent by Nautic Depths & Nunc Stans;)  It arrived a few days ago and is quite good. The improvised flourishes overlaying the deep harmonic drones makes for for rewarding headphones listening.

Currently listening:

Nautic Depths & Nunc Stans- Falling Silent- Kudos to Anthony and Tomas for putting together a very deep and ponderous album-- works wonderful with headphones. Anthony's contributions here are usually under the surface, so to speak, and a perfect compliment to Tomas' smooth, hypnotic drone work. Well done, guys!

Steve Roach & Jorge Reyes- Vine- Bark & Spore- Pure Magic! This may be my favorite tribal-ambient album, except for Well Of Souls
A-Sun-Amissa- Desperate In Her Heavy Sleep- gothic and dense cello/violin/synth work. Quite beautiful and tragic, if you're in the mood for an impending sense of doom ;-)
Talking Heads- Remain In Light

And I've been attempting to listen to various Craig Tattersall projects (Seaman & The Tattered Sail, The Humble Bee), but strangely, I've lost all connection with this music-- I invariably turn it off after 15 minutes or so. It just doesn't hold my interest anymore. Over-saturation, maybe? ...but this happens to be sometimes. Years ago, I lost all connection to Oophoi's music, and I rarely listen to it anymore, along with other dark ambient projects that I loved at one time. Not sure how this happens...

I very much appreciate the comments on the new Nautic Depths & Nunc Stans, Chris and Joe.
And yes, I tend primarily to do the "flourishes" ... the leads and quirky sounds.
Though not only that.
I am very pleased with how the release turned out. Was a lot of work, and I thank Tomas bringing it to press, as it were.

Lol! Yes, I realize that it's a deep psychological malfunction, and I am currently seeking medical solutions and support groups that specialize in this sort of problem.

I've already alerted the local police in case they see him wandering the streets listening to Raffi.

Lol! Okay, are the comedians on this forum through yet, or should I wait for more smart-ass remarks?  :)

I truly don't understand the Oophoi thing either, I should try again...

What's truly alarming is that I'm actually enjoying my son's Weird Al Yankovic Greatest Hits album. Seriously; especially the song "Albuquerque :o

Ah, Weird Al ..... that's good then.
You have simply realized that there is enjoyable music beyond ambient. No problem there.  8)

I think Weird Al did a cover of an Ooophi album that he called Behind the Wall of Sheep. You can have it both ways, Joe.

;D Thanks Chris, but I snapped that up as soon as it hit the market. That very same day, I bought Signals From The Great Behind. An instant classic!

And now back to our regular programming  ;)

Could be my favorite Sakamoto collaboration.....the Fennesz treatments work so well with the piano.  More experimental than Sakamoto & Willets excellent Ancient Future but in a very good way and more accessible than their 12k release Ocean Fire.  Also theres an element in Sakamoto's piano that is reminiscent for me of his film music adding a melodic smoothness to the Fennesz glitch.

Got my cd from Amoeba in San Francisco, had a hard time finding it..... flac is available from Boomkat  http://boomkat.com/cds/33897-fennesz-sakamoto-cendre

- Saul Stokes: LFOUFO
Been playing quite a bit. High quality (as always) and catchy. Great in the car. I don't really think of it as ambient.
- Philipp Weigl: Prisma
No vocals in this one, unfortunately. But has been growing on me.
