Late last night.........

Namlook/Hawtin - From Within. Spacey, alien ambient with beats, music from another Universe. Superb.

Kyle Bobby Dunn - Kyle Bobby Dunn and the Infinite Sadness
Excellent guitar drones: somber, deep, and beautiful. And, as usual, good titles (e.g., the "Boring Foothills of Foot Fetishville").

Led Zeppelin I-111 (reissues).  Great live disc Paris 1969 on the first one.

The Fixx--Live 1982 King Biscuit Flower Hour.

Sonic Youth--Daydream Nation deluxe 2 CD.  IMO their best album.  An excellent live disc is included on this release.

Velvet Underground--At the End of Cole Street (2cd live 1969).

Recently setup my living room music system with a laptop and have been enjoying Pandora.  Never used the service before.  Its a communal system so ambient is not always piped in but when it is Im really enjoying a shuffle between Steve Roach and Brian Eno.  Im discovering artist I have never heard of and some I know by name but not their music.   8)

I've been enjoying the full immersion treatment with Loren Dent's Anthropology Vols. 1, 2 and 3 and his Extras from vol. 1 that we're originally available on a separate memory stick release.  Majestic symphonic drone with occasional hints of Stars of the Lid.

Forrest

Thanks for the heads up on this Forrest....Ive been streaming on Bandcamp.  Love it!  Will buy the cd.  Beautiful artwork on as well.

Lucette Bourdin - Radiant Stars

Never listened to any of her albums before but I'm really impressed so far.  Great textures.

Porya Hatami - The Garden
A new ambient release on Dronarivm. Simple acoustic soundscapes inspired by a garden theme. Each track is named for a common garden denizen (e.g., ladybug) and I am assuming that at least some of the field recordings are magnified and processed recordings of said creatures. Really neat stuff with beautiful artwork to boot.

Dronny Darko and SandSpace - Untitled

Excellent aquatic dark ambient music from GV Sound, which is an excellent netlabel. Their vision of the sea is a lot creepier and claustrophobic than mine was on Oceanscape, at least in the beginning. The album cover sums it up quite well.

Excellent albums, all of them high quality and very difficult to chose between. Great label Carpe Sonum. Looking forward to the Bubble, Krystian Shek, AOC4 and new Heckman releases.

Deaf Center - Recount
Recount is a new EP of two Deaf Center sessions from a few years ago. The two tracks are amazing. The mood is dark and mysterious, not unlike that evoked by some of the tracks from Pale Ravine. Most of the sound comes from piano, bowed guitar, creaking piano stools, and the subdued swells of organ and strings. The packaging is unique and interesting also--the outer case contains an intricate laser cut pattern that reveals, in a mysterious manner, the imagery on the inner sleeve.

Castleview: I gave that Dronny Darko and SandSpace release a listen and enjoyed it. Good recommendation!

Andrew Lahiff - Intangible Imbrications
This guy seems to know the secret to producing beautiful, floating, ambient.  Digital only (and "name your price").
