Have to say I am enjoying the new Mr Rich offering especially the title track , away to stick it on in a bit for a further listen as have been totally absorbed all week in ........

Jacob Newman- Biospherica . This really is my kind of ambient, wonderful, in my top releases this year. Well done again to the Carpe Sonum label.

And today ....

Triple S - Poles . Melody orientated Berlin Scool with guitar and many ambient aspects. If you haven't heard this yet then do yourself a favour and check it out . Magnificent.

Jacob Newman - Biospherica
I agree with thirdsystem: this is a fantastic release and one of the noteworthy albums of the year. Bubbly, glitchy, and occasionally dubby ambient textures, with nice melodies, field recordings, and atmospheres.

somni451 - Alice
New one--and self-released. This feels like "classic" sonmi451, but with slightly trippy atmospheres and some obvious Wonderland influences. Some of the tracks are reminiscent of the newer work, but what I like about this is that it integrates those sounds with the older sonmi451 style in a way that is both familiar and fresh.

Biospherica is awesome. Definitely one of my favorites of the year as well.

Steve Roach & Vir Unis - Blood Machine

A favorite. Still fresh enough. "Sense" is amazing.

I think there were plans to do a re-release on Atmoworks.com. I'm pretty sure I've read about it years ago. Too bad it never happened.

Yeah, "Blood Machine" is a true visionary work, an ultimate milestone!!! ;) Btw, there are still some mint or near mint copies available via Discogs:

Vir Unis - Live at the Miramar

For me the best Vir Unis! Ultimative deep and atmospheric.

Mentioned elsewhere and checked out .....

Sonmi451. - Four Peaks, on Spotify. Time released sound, expensive collectors item job it appears. Very nice quiet , reflective ambient. Wasn't so keen on the "Limbic" album as found the female whispering a tad annoying, will give it another go. Four peaks is worth checking out.

Currently...

Carbon Based Lifeforms - Hydroponic Gardens. I bought the Carbon pack from Ultimae a while back. High quality melodic and sequenced ambient with some beats. Warm and interesting , impressive bass frequencies !!

Max Corbacho - Ars Lucis

Finally I purchased the CD via Discogs Market Place. His best album imo. Love it.

Yeah, you are lucky as Max doesn't have any copies left. Definitely a milestone along with "The Ocean Inside" 2CD. "Light-Matrix Portal" is a magnum opus!!! Max has a lot of new material ready, including "Nocturnes" which was supposed to be released on Hypnos. He certainly deserves a very strong label. Keep on enjoying "Ars Lucis"!!!  :)

Hi Richard, great to hear about the news from Max. Really excited to hear new sounds. The ocean inside is a nice composition too.

No Mask Effect - Nothing Out There
From Psychnavigation's Keith Downey. This release combines urban field recordings with lush, rich synth textures to create some deep and mysterious atmospheres. The first two No Mask Effect releases seemed interesting, but I didn't feel compelled to press the "buy" button. This one was worth it.

Robert Rich - What We Left Behind
I finally picked this up after Robert Rich opened his Bandcamp store last week. This feels like a mature release: the mood, the details, and the instrumentation all fit together nicely. Lovely artwork too.

Erik Wollo - Stars End 2015
One continuously evolving and flowing journey through space. Love it.

Steve Roach - Early Man
Vir Unis - The Drift Inside

re blood machine - A great album, especially as the sounds are very energetic but somehow stationary...

Vast, slow-moving ambient waves for 70 minutes. Nice stuff, Mike.

語り部 - Sketches
This has a spiritual, Alio-Die-like vibe that I really enjoy. Slow moving textures and some organic elements. Digital only.

Purl - Form is Emptiness
Spacious ambient with dub elements from the master. This is better than much of his celebrated work on Silent Season. Worth a listen.

A couple of nice releases I've been listening to lately:

Jaja - Milky Way
         Sparkles

Both of these releases are very meditative and calm.  Performed live.  Nice for late-night contemplation, especially Milky Way, which has long-form pieces spread over two discs.

Phobos - An October Evening

Also a live recording.  Hard to describe this one.  Moody and dark in places, bordering on dark ambient, with ebbs and flows, and occasional suggestions of melody.  Well done.
