This Bing Satellites release just came out just a few days ago and sounds really good:

Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith & Suzanne Ciani: FRKWYS Vol. 13: Sunergy

Really like this modular blippy & noise goodness, with some fine Riley undertones.

Aglaia - Latitude
Lush ambient textures that shift and transform in beautiful ways. As usual, this is just the right blend of experimental and ambient.

Two from the Archives label:

Warmth - Essay
Slow moving ambience, anchored with some deep-bass melodies.

Gallery Six - Underwater Paradise
Serene, yet glitchy with its occasional water-sample overlays.

Aglaia - Latitude

Listened to this on Spotify Chris , lush and interesting ambient as you say. Thereafter embarked on an Aglaia fest - Leaves and Tunderstorms, Angelus, Ephemeral Blue (wonderful !!), Florealia Nocturnal and current play is Intangible Opacity . Great stuff.

Also discovered what I assume is another Aglaia - very laid back almost improvised jazz , very good also.

Paul Schütze – New Maps of Hell (1992) Full album

Count me as a fan. He recorded several great albums in the 90s. I'm glad he also maintains a bandcamp page and makes most of these OOP recordings available. My favorite is probably still Surgery of Touch.

Surgery of Touch is good.  It's slightly disturbing and probably unappealing to the Ambient fan who needs to be in a very comfortable place all the time.  It's semi-dark mystic music that leans towards acid hell sometimes, but never gets close enough to harm a strong soul.

"Apart" is a Paul Schütze album that is most likely to appeal to the Ambient drone fan.  Gentle and somewhat haunting.  I also have "Rapture of Metals" which is similar to "New Maps of Hell" in some ways, but less cinematic and not as good.

His 90s works made a lasting impression.  They will never be deleted.  They are cherished pieces of music.  When they appear at random on shuffle, I pay close attention and wonder what makes them so special.  The question never gets answered.  I simply accept they are timeless compositions to be enjoyed.

His later works do nothing for me.  I wanted to like them, but couldn't.  This is a common occurrence in music.

Flowers for Body Snatchers

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnyYKN_nEqs

Somber piano, muted synths and field recordings.  Dark, serene and beautiful.  One of my favorite new-ish Dark Ambient artists.

The audio quality of this youtube is a joke compared to the real thing.  People who rip from youtube apparently don't care about audio quality, but they would still like to know how to burn this rip to CD at the highest quality.   ;D

Johannes Schmoelling - A Thousand Times part 2 and
Ulrich Schnauss - No Further Ahead Than Today

Two albums from TD men. Both seem to suit this Christmas Eve time and mood. Excellent albums.

Merry Christmas to all on here. Have a great time with family and friends over the festive period. All the best.

Yay, Alio Die.

Been listening to his two new ones a lot around here: An Unfathomable Convergence and Imaginal Symmetry. The first one feels like an extended mix of Seamlessly Bliss. It is good, but it makes me want to listen to SB instead (which is one of my favorites of the year). Imaginal Symmetry is beautiful and is my favorite of the two new releases. Again, it has some familiar motifs, but the sounds flow nicely and have a nice meditative quality.

I'm with you Chris. I also liked Imaginal Symmetry quite a lot, but did not pick up Unfathomable Convergence.

Tetsu Inoue - Inland , having had the iTunes download for years finally got the silver disc for Christmas.

Stunningly beautiful ambient mastery of the highest order . Wherever you are Tetsu I hope all is well.

I think I've got almost everything he did up through Abysmal Evenings. There are a few I'm missing such as the "More Beautiful Than Human Life" and "Vertical Memory" albums he did under pseudonyms and the album from the Driftworks box.

I've not heard much of his later work so I don't really have an opinion on it. IIRC he is mostly doing art gallery and film work now, not releasing albums under his own name.

One album that often gets overlooked is the Shutze/Andrew Hulme collaboration which is very good IMHO.

Re: Rapture of Metals, I actually like that one more than New Maps.

Klaus Schulze - La Vie electronique 2 - interesting listening to this. Just the first track so far, about 43 years old and it feels like a notebook, the sonic sketches that developed into the releases....
