Tangerine Dream - Oasis

and then the first track from Seven Letters From Tibet....no rhythm and stunning atmosphere...

I really like Oasis. Spent many moons trying track down the dvd/vhs to see the visuals the music was written for. No luck.

Also , Seven Letters, beautiful music. One of the albums that pointed me in the direction of ambient music. Thanks TD .

Current play -

Roach/ Braheny - Western Spaces , so beautiful .

Alio Die + Aglaia - Amitabha
This has some really nice tracks on it, but I didn't find it compelling enough to give it repeated listens.

Steve Brand - Near Series: Threshold
I'm obsessed with this for some reason. Long-form ambient work that captures something that reminds me of early vidnaObmana and Roach collaborations, but with its own voice and personality. Infinitely interesting.

AMM - From A Strange Place

There's nothing else quite like AMM.

RP:
Nunc Stans - Stanzas from the museum of art
Nunc Stans - Time
Contemplative, meditative, poetic works

The Winterhouse - Slow awakening
The Winterhouse - Winder Gardens
Enchanting, deep, sublime works

The Winterhouse - Gathering Autums
Very balanced, meditative nature music

All the above works contain a deep self-reflection, there seems nothing without a thoughtful meaning.
Always something of interest to find in these often melancholic sounds.

Mathias Grassow - Dissolution - very dense drones.
Alio Die and Yannick Dauby - Descendre Cinq Lacs Au Travers D'Une Voilé. Great piece of drifting music.

Steve Brand - Near Series: Glow
New release on ...txt on a long-form ambient piece. Beautiful, drifting soundscapes.

Alio Die and Mathias Grassow - Praha Meditations
I somehow managed to miss this when it came out 8 years ago. (Too much World of Warcraft!) But I picked it up recently and it has been on constant rotation. Love it!

Shorelights - Ancient Lights
New release from Rod Modell and friends. This is not like the previous Shorelights release, which was a mesmerizing, 60-min experimental soundscape. This is more Echospace-esqe, with super-smooth bass riffs, expansive ambient washes, processed flute (!?), and dubby goodness. Love it.

Warmth - Parallel
I love this guy's work, but this latest release didn't quite grab me; the sounds seem a bit homogeneous across the various tracks. I might revisit it on a day when I'm craving something more minimal and uniform.

語り部 - Respite
Excellent moody ambient.

Max Corbacho - Nocturnes II
This is fantastic. Max has always been super-talented, but I feel like he's finally found his own  unique voice in the last few releases. The opening and closing tracks of this album are worth the price of admission alone.

Oval - 94diskont

A glitch masterpiece and one of the pioneering albums of the genre.

Zoviet France - What Is Not True

An excellent dark ambient album that might be the most accessible album in the group's discography

Vladimir Martynov - Dances On The Shore

Listened to this last night and it's a great modern classical piece.

I just heard this for the first time. Nice stuff!

Halftribe - For the Summer, or Forever
New release on Dronarivm. Amazing work. Very similar in spirit to his previous release on Archives: Soft ambient melodies and loops, with glitched out textures and flourishes. I love all the little details in this; true sonic candy.

I think you'd also like Microstoria. Check out SND and Init Ding. It was a duo of Markus Popp from Oval and Jan St. Werner from Mouse On Mars.
