David Tagg - Skin Diagram (Archaic Horizon) - netlabel release. Not his best, but pretty nice for free.

If you've heard David's stuff you'll know what to expect:

Just a note, Alan: that blue is almost impossible to read on the grey/dark background version of the forum .. which a number of us use. Probably best to avoid.

Implex Grace - Through Luminescent Passages I (netlabel release - download details here: http://www.distancerecordings.com/dist001.html)

Really enjoying this. I noted from the site that it’s mastered by Joshua Eustis, which would explain why it reminded me of Belong, and their massive breaking waves of washed out harmonized dronefuzz, heard on their October Language. Draw a line with Hammock and Eluvium at one end, and Tim Hecker and Fennesz at the other, and you can locate this Implex Grace guy navigating back and forth round about the middle, somewhere bumping up against the vessel of Willits + Sakamoto’s Ocean Fire maybe.

Not the most original of artists, but certainly worth grabbing if you enjoy anything in the sonic zone whose coordinates I’ve outlined.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. What a gem! This release in particular reminds me of Tim Hecker, only perhaps this is a bit more optimistic in nature somehow. You're right, maybe it's not all that original, but I couldn't care less about that when it's this good. And it's free!

what a lovely cd this is .... expensive as hell, but worth
every € .... manipulated shortwave radio ..... but so warm
and cozy just like Hecker

I agree, it's a very nice listen. The title is actually Radioland, "Auf der Gasse" being one of the tracks. Nice looker too!

The link to the tracks is cool...& flexible from a listening perspective.

Once there, play around with opening all, then some, then turn others off & on...they all sound cool when mixed together...OR singly.

Yep, on some sites pushing minimalism I don't realize one sample is still playing when I click on another, and its takes a while before I notice ... sometimes I have 3 or 4 going before I realize. And sometimes the samples sound better to my ears when more than one is playing. It does say something about the music.

i recently received a shipment from spirit voyage (www.spiritvoyage.com) with 4 singing bowl cd's and the lou reed disc. i am listening to sacred bowls by michael perricone with seven metals by benjamin iobst, golden bowls by karma moffett and ocean bowls also by karma on the changer. this is deep stuff and almost narcotic in the listening experience.

Acid Mothers Temple--Recurring Dream and Apocalypse

This is a blast, kind of like Slayer fused with Hawkwind, floating in a cosmic ectoplasm of blasting looping madness and Azathothian mad flutes being ripped away by the wind. Not quite a defining album in terms of structure, but then again neither is the majority of their music...

Still, clears the cobwebs and replaces them with cosmic rage...

I love these guys; all-over-the-map jam sessions, hour-long tracks of freaked-out rock, strange voices declaring who-the-hell-knows-what, odd oscillating synth loops on top of bizarre time-signature drumming; amazing stuff. I've yet to find an AMT CD or song that sticks in my mind, but everything I've heard has been a worthwhile listen. And considering that they release a cd every week (or so it seems) that's a TON of great music out there...

I've been going through my old Pain Teens albums today; I had forgotten how great these freaks were. "Beast of Dreams", their final disk, is essential.
