Hello!
Hey jkn, is there a problem with the Atmoworks site? I have just returned from being away for over a week and can't seem to connect regardless of what server I use. I'm just wondering if I missed something?
Peace, Kirk

I know its down for a little while. They are working out some new server (and other) details.

Raison d'etre - Metamorphyses. Tracks 4 and 5 are fantastic.

Vidna Obmana - The River of Appearance

Speedy J - A Shocking Hobby. Listening to a lot of ambient needs a heavy counterweight sometimes.

Tony - thanks for answering!   I should probably post something about what we're doing in another thread.   But the nutshell version is we migrated our site from one server to another and unfortunately it took a week longer than needed due to some technical glitches at our webhost (which has been rock solid for about about 6 years... guess we caught them on a bad day... :(

The site should pop up soon - however, our store still won't be up for another week or so due to some programming that needs to happen.   (If you want to buy anything in the meantime - we'll figure it out!)

We're setting up an AtmoWorks community that we'd love for people to join.   You can post music, photos, and video's very easily - have your own blog, etc...  I'll definitely be promoting Hypnos, dataObscura/Blue Oasis, GOS, etc... releases there.    We want to compliment and encourage the larger music community that includes all of our labels.

http://atmoworks.ning.com   <-- this will be atmoworks.com in a month or so.   :)

Now listening to the album I've been working on since before the first Hypnos CD was ever released (started recording in January 1997), Fabrications.

I'm just updating the Hypnos store with it, and I'm so relieved and happy to have it finished!

Its an old one, but still sounds so contemporary to my ears. Love it.

Tim Hecker - Harmony in Ultraviolet -- This is one album I simply can't grow tired of. So much noise and yet so damn beautiful. Abstract electronica at its finest!

Onde - One LP (Ondemusic)  - Finally got around to picking this up.  This is the former Noise Maker's Fifes members (Jacobs, Wroblewski & Van Luijk) in their first collaboration after Geert Feyton's death.   Yes, a bit noisy...but with perceptable strands.

Concert Silence - s/t.  This is an Eluvium side-project we're working on releasing at some point this summer on both LP & CD.  A bit of a departure from Eluvium, as this is more piano based, with a bit of digital smearing.  To me it sounds like what I hoped would come of the collab. between Fennesz and Sakamoto.

Rameses III - Basilica 2CD set on Important.  I was looking forward to the remixes more than the live tracks initially.  I've been listening almost exclusively to the live disc, just a beautifully compiled set.

Pub - Making Traxcks .3.  It's Pub - which IMO, is always a worthwhile listen.  I'm upset I missed out on the first 2 installments of this micro-edition series.

Never heard him sounding so lovely as he does here:

("The Lady in Red (is Dancing with Meat)" ~ from electronic terrorist V/Vm's Sick Love, details of which subversion are at: http://www.brainwashed.com/vvm/releases/vvmtest/offal03c.htm)

Check out the version of "Imagine" too (if you ever hated this song as much as me, you'll enjoy hearing it lovingly mauled here:
)

well, my manic stage has kicked back in for a short visit and i have 37 new cd's for listening - including 6 promos for review in awareness. wow! this will be a superb week ahead.
right now i am listening to biomusique the 10,000 steps, coyote oldman under an ancient sky, johnny whitehorse (aka robert mirabal) totemic flute chants, david & steve gordon earth drum (the 25th anniversary collection vol 1) and scott august lost canyons. these are very cool native discs and review promos for awareness. can anyone guess what this issue's theme is? bingo! native peoples!

today is a synthetic block day. i am listening to his ss and gos releases and i am impressed! jonathan has gone into some ambient territory without abandoning his obvious love of sequencer electronica. well done, jonathan!

Per Tjernberg - Inside Information (large ensemble jazz project heavily influenced by Coltrane; very nicely done)
Juana Molina - Tres Cosas (charming low key songs from Argentinian singer with understated electronics; on Domino)
Robert Rich & Ian Boddy - React (excellent live disc from their performance at Star's End's 30th anniversary concert last year)

Anybody heard the new Fear Falls Burning? I am very curious to know...

Been listening to the Tetsu Inoue catalogue recently. So amazing what this man creates! Any fans of the Flowerhead Datacide album out there. I had put this one away for a long time, before recently bringing it out and getting blown away with its deep strangeness and beauty...

Datacide - Flowerhead is one of my favorites - and ironically - I think I've listened to it 4 times through this week.   It's goodness sneaks up on you.   Definitely a repeat listener.

Today I had the em:t comp from the more recent incarnation of em:t.  It's a nice album.   I think they went back under again though.

also had Muse - HAARP because I just can't get enough of Muse lately.

also listening to James Johnson, Vir Unis, and me live from a few years back.  I had so much fun playing with those two.

Its a decent one.
The Titeltrack has gone completely wrong
imo. But the rest is really enjoyable and good.
The last track on the cd is a perfect example
of how to build up tension from second one
to the end.
