Whoa, now.  You know it gets too ambient when critters come runnin' out of the packaging...

I've been trying to come up with something to do with all our extra yard debris, grass trimmings and tree branches and the like.  What a great idea!

Well, then count me out...

I'll wait for the special "compost" limited edition box.

Today:

Gregory Taylor - Voiceband Jilt (a little glitchier than his other projects, with very lyrical drones)

Nothing will ever beat it.

Steve Roach - Kairos DVD
Almost forgot how much I like it.

Ozric Tentacles - Arborescence
One of their best.

In The Morning:
The Circular Ruins – Falling Into the Sky – Blue Oasis
(Nothing short of spectacular….it’s been while since I listened to the album and I have to admit “It Is Always to Late” is one of best songs of the year when it comes to ambient)

In The Afternoon:
Ishq – Timelapse In Mercury – Virtual Musical Reality
(The album is good but something bothers me about the recording quality.  I get the impression that the album has not been mastered.  It sounds unpolished…come to think of it all of the albums I own from this artist sound like that)

On Now:
Deepchord Feat Echospace – The Coldest Season – Modern Love
(Dub techno at its finest moment!  Needed this after a few mediocre releases within the genre)

This guy's hit a rich vein of radiant drone material just lately, and this one's right up there with his recent enchanting Before Long, Before Anyone, The Stars Will Be Walls In My Mind

Indeed....the Fabio Orsi was Gorgeous!  But it seems that the man is prolific at the moment although he has'nt missed a step in my opinion.  Some people have had mixed fellings about "We Could For Hours" and "The First Born".  None the less the man is back on point with "The Wild Light Of The Moon" and "Sound Postcards."  But better yet Undershadow check this out talk about prolific he has a new album on Last Visible Dog...that seems to umm improve on that "Ambient" sound of his....check the sample and purchase at all costs it is a Double CD album that purports to be his most ambient affair yet:

What is that five CD's in the last month?

In The Morning:
Procer Veneficus - Saltwater & Glassmoon - Stellar Auditorium
(Bleak submersible atmospheres for the dead of night)

In The Afternoon:
Migrations In Rust/Diaphragm - Framed Of Remission - Peasant Magick
(I was'nt in the mood when I first popped it in.  Forced myself to listen to the album and was highly disappointed.  I'll give it another shot later but it doesn’t seem to be my cup of tea and a far cry from prior releases from Migrations In Rust)

On Now:
The Winterhouse - Slow Promises - Blue Oasis
(Finally a break from a bad day at the headphones.  A form of relief from a couple of disappointing cassettes and CD's.  Nice and easy drift for a chilly evening in Southern California!)

What's Next:
David Sylvian + Holger Czukay - Plight And Premonition - Virgin
(Has never let me down and it's been a few years)

Does anyone remember the Staalplaat issue of Nocturnal Emission's "Blasphemous Rumours"?
Came in a circular metal tin packed with sand.

Sand.

Sounds like a CD player's worst nightmare.  Maybe it was intended as an homage to the sandpaper sleeve of the Durutti Column's first album.

angel provocateur - cloud street
a very cool experimental ambient project featuring the vocal ministrations of vanessa harvey backed with sparse instrumentation. vanessa's vocals are processed and manipulated extensively into an avant-garde soundscape. this is on ventricle out of seattle.
all the best and God bless

How about Aube's "Aqua Syndrome" complete with water bag?
