I've re-titled this one since it's nearly the end of the year (original topic title referred to "It's a new year, let's introduce ourselves")

Or maybe we should create a new "introduce ourselves" topic every year?

Hello everybody !

I hereby introduce myself : my name is Alex, aka Axs, I'm an electronic music lover (and producer) especially in genres such as dub techno, ambient and drone. I've discovered the Hypnos label a bit more than a year ago thanks to the Michael Mantra and Rod Modell's "Sonic Continuum" release... And since then I pretty much buy every Hypnos record I stumble upon, and every time I'm amazed at the quality of the releases. Of course as many ambient fans I'm inspired by the works of Brian Eno, but also Mathias Grassow, Thomas Köner, Andrew Chalk and Michael Mantra. I registered here after reading the forums for a bit, as the community seems nice and constitued mainly of music lovers like me. And on the internet, that's something quite seldom found.

Best regards ;)
Alex.

Greetings:
My name is Alan Imberg. Been lurking on/off for a while. I felt compelled to post for the 1st time recently in the thread announcing Jim Brenholts passing.

I'm a guitarist. I've released a few things independently over the years.

I'm a lover of all sorts of music (so long as its not "cheesy") but particularly instrumental music from different cultures as well as abstract music ranging from Ambient (e.g. Roach, classic Eno) to noise/drone (e.g. Sunn o))), Main, Merzbow).

I have admired the Hypnos labels for years. Kudos to you, Mr. Griffin, for maintaining a level of quality and integrity over the years.

Cheers,

Alan Imberg

Hello,

My name is Bert Strolenberg;
some might already know me as I run my own EM-website www.sonicimmersion.org since October 2007; before that I made E-dition magazine & was reviewer for KLEM, a Dutch Em-fanzine...All together I've been around in EM about 35 years or so.

I hope to visit this forum regularly & when time allows; a day for me should be longer than 12 hours as I have soe much things I's like to do as well...
Cheers to you all!

Bert

Hi everyone.

My name is Ben, I'm from London (UK) and have been reading this forum for sometime so thought I should join up. I know a few people on here from other forums (i.e. Tangerine Dream Forum, Modulator ESP Forum and Emportal).

I release music as Gliese 614 (solo) and also Llunstorcarnay, a collaboration with my friend Andy (Seren Ffordd).

http://www.hypnos.com/smf/index.php?topic=254.20

First got into electronic music at age seven, when I discovered JM Jarre (my mother bought some tapes, including Oxygene and Equinoxe). Years later, I discovered Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Ash Ra Tempel, etc. and from there discovered a lot of ambient artists too.

Hi, my name is Pascal Savy. I am french but I have been living in London (UK) for nearly ten years. I started making electronic music in the late nineties with hardware sequencer and synthesisers, influenced by detroit techno. After a long break, I really got into ambient and drones music and then started experimenting in this field, influenced by labels like 12k, touch or imbalance computer music. I now produce everything in the box but incorporate many field recordings I have been capturing whenever possible. After spending 3 years shaping up my sound, I have released my first solo project under my own name on the Audiomoves label back in March 2010. I am now working on various collaborative projects, one being with a very interesting japanese sound/art label called Field Noise Records.

I have heard of Hypnos through forum member Bert Strolenberg (SonicImmersion.org) who reviewed my album a couple of months ago and who encouraged me to join in.

Pascal--welcome to Hypnos! I've been listening to your "Silent Watcher" CD quite a bit lately for review. An excellent bit of work, absolutely worth diving deeply into!
