I hadn't realized the Lena is a giantess cello player!!!

GIANTESS??? Excuse me, but I am quite svelte... ;)

Admittedly, not sure how two ambientphiles ended up so well-adjusted, but.... :o  :D

"Well-adjusted"? (Hmmm, you obviously don't know us very well)... ;D

Just very strong then. Playing the cello under your chin must be quite the show stopper!

Well, I guess you can be fifty feet tall and still be svelte, right? Right???

Here and with avatar too (though I accidently typed in 'avatart' - perhaps I should get a new picture to fit!!).

Mike, will we be able to choose from more skins, I liked the dark one on the earlier version, forget it's name?

Well, consider yourself lucky you don't know ME very well...just ask Mike about some of our phone conversations back in the late 90s when I was a wanna-be William Randolph Hearst. I'll bet Mike thought he should be charging me for being my therapist after some of those marathon whine sessions on my part! :D

Anyway, I'm sincerely happy you two are so good for each other. As I wrote earlier, nothing wrong with a little more love in the world...even in the wacky weird and wonderful world of ambientism! ;)

Oh great, now I'm able to post. A minute ago, for some reason, my posts wouldn't appear.

Yes, I'll be putting new themes up soon, maybe this weekend.  I decided to remove all but the basic themes from the Forum, even though I had originally transferred them all across, because with all the database updates I was doing last night, every time I'd restore a bunch of settings, it would "break" all the themes except the default and display an error message on every page if you weren't using the default.  So I figured it would avoid problems if we all just lived with this light blue theme for a while.

I'm partial to a darker look myself.

The Forum seems to be up & running just fine, other than the need for more themes which I'll address soon, so I'm going to "un-sticky" this topic and turn it back into a normal topic.

nah...they just don't realize that they have to create a new 'cookie' in IE or what ever browser due to the new IP address, etc....I had to do the same is log back in with my username...
just sometimes, people just don't look up and just start reading with out realizing they are not logged in...

I'm concerned that maybe a lot of people are having trouble logging-in for some reason.  I see lots of "guests" viewing the Forum at any given time, but not many logged-in members.

Maybe people are just browsing and waiting to see more traffic before they bother logging in.

I won't be able to work on this much until later today, but if people are trying to log in and unable to do so, please email me at mg (at) hypnos.com

Mike,

Thanks for all of your efforts in putting the new forum together.  It sucks that everything on the old forum was lost and can't be migrated to the new.  There was years of interesting stuff there.  Oh well, what can you do?  Maybe there is a way to allow viewing of the old forum as read-only somehow?  It might not be worth the effort though.

The new forum software looks nifty.  I did have a question though.  Most BB's I visit have dialogs as part of the process when posting a reply or a new topic.  On other boards when inserting an outside link, when you hit the Insert Hyperlink button you get a popup window dialog that steps you through pasting the URL you want to link to and the text you want to show up in the post.  Something like this.  However, with the new Hypnos Forum, when clicking the Insert Hyperlink button you just get something like this: "[url]  [\url]".  The dialogs make things so much easier.  I was just wondering if the new forum software has this as an option?  Just wondering.  Thanks again for all of your hard work.

Hi Rick-
You're right, there's no "wizard" for typing in URLs or named outside links here.  It's possible there's a plug-in module for some kind of enhancement to the posting process.  I won't be doing much in the way of hot-rodding or adding options on the Forum until things have quieted down here (behind the scenes I mean) with this hypnos.com domain move.  But I appreciate the feature request and it's something I'd like to add if I can find a pre-built module of some sort.
Thanks,
Mike

Mike - When you get back to tweaking the forum you may want to add a nicely obvious top-level link to the main Hypnos site.

That's definitely one thing I'd like to implement.  I used that all the time on the old Forum, click on the "Hypnos" logo at the top of any page and you end up at the front page of www.hypnos.com -- I'll definitely work on that one.  Thanks, Scott.

Regarding THEMES, the "BacknBlack" theme (which was the one I always used prior to the move) has been re-installed and tested, and it's working fine.

THEMES

The "Babylon" theme has been re-installed and briefly tested... seems OK.
