Excellent!! I've been hoping for some sort of follow-up to "Gongland" for a while. The samples sounds very good, July can't come soon enough.

Breathtaking samples. I am so excited about this album. This kind of fusion between ambient and world music, where the fusion feels real and immersive, is very rare. I recently mentioned Rabih Abou Khalil, and Forrest's music gives me the same kind of feeling of a new land being discovered. Being a fan of both Asian classical music and ambient, this album is an event.

What is the stringed instrument being played on the second track? And is that font on the cover Silentium?

Thanks for the encouragement, guys.  I'll let you know when it's out.

Joseph, the stringed instrument is a Turkish cumbus (a fretless instrument with a metal resonator).  Sam picked the font, so I don't really know what it is.

Can't wait to get this.  Is there a larger version of Mark's cover around?  I'd like to see it a little closer.

Hi Brian,

I don't have a larger cover image yet, but will link to it once I get one.  I think the master disc was sent off to the manufacturers already, and Sam and I have been working on the one-sheet.  Once the disc gets closer to release, I'll post a 9-minute ambient piece that deconstructs elements from the disc as a free download.

Hello,

These first appetizers sound very appealing.
These works are a perfectly balanced association of modern/electronic and traditional/acoustic worlds.
At first sight, the sound is clear and radiant and is really different from your previous Gongland CD.
July's gonna be VERY interesting :-)

yeah, just listening these excerpts as well, sounds very good to my ears too! i like the feel that these oriental, acoustic atmospheres have. i hope this one may arrive early in july..

p.s. is this one a digipack or in a regular jewel case?

Hi jim02,

I think it's a jewel box release.

Ferngerms,

I'm sure I'll continue to release new material, though I'll probably wait a bit before starting my next project.  I can't really crank them out like Fabio Orsi or Brian Grainger (Milieu) can.
