I think it's fun to say "dude" sometimes.

I even think it's fun to call females "dude."
i call females dudette.
i like to take the word and give it some regality - as in your dudeness.

According to my 16 yr old daughter...it's not cool for someone my age to say "dude".  She also doesn't like it when girls/women use the word "dude".

The favorite word for my 14 yr old son & his knucklehead friends is..."pants".  They just think it's a funny word.  They've taken to using it as an exclamation..."What the pants?!!".

A favorite word of mine is Fizbo.  It's not really a word, I use it to refer to people & it sort of replaces "dude" as in "Hey Fizbo, when are we going to the movie?" or "Let's meet in Fizbo's office."  I had a boss that used the term to refer to anybody on his staff.  Apparently it is a real estate term that means For Sale By Owner, FSBO.  He just appropriated it to refer to anybody.

A few other irritations that I just thought of...adding "ing" to words that shouldn't have "ing" such as "efforting" or "partnering".  I guess those may fall under the category of "office-speak" which I hate.  Words & phrases like "repurposing" "synergy" "paradigm shifts" "incentivise" "going forward" blah blah blah.

but i started using "dude" back when i was in my early 30's so a 20 year history outweighs your 14 year old daughter's opinion. :P
(nb: i did not say "back in the day.")

Pet peeve: my place of employment calls the workers a "team", and the "supervisors are "coaches". I can't stand that. Just call us what we are.

I absolutely hate the phrase "My bad". Every time I read or hear it I want to reply "Your bad English?!"

Really?  That you means you care to some degree.  No, you couldn't care less!

Teenagers using the word "awesome" have devalued it so much that it no longer expresses awe and wonder. Instead it's just another slogan standing in for a genuine reaction. It's become the new "cool".

In order to keep its power, when I want to use awesome to describe that is truly awesome, I say fucking awesome. So far that has worked well for me except when I am in church.

The phrase "not so much" really annoys me.   >:(

I wish I was a Glowworm; a Glowworm's never glum. 'Cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?
