RIP: David Carridine
« on: June 04, 2009, 09:14:43 PM »
This is sad. It's hard to explain to someone younger how important the show "Kung Fu" was at the time. It was definitely a "Hippie" show for us as youngsters. As corny as it was, it was an alternative to mainstream television. I always liked Gabe Kaplan's routine where he said something like, " You could do anything to Caine for 50 minutes because you knew that he would kung fu all over the place in the last five minutes. Godspeed, David.      Harry
Never regret money spent on old books, old dogs or old friends.

I used to watch that show every week when I was in high school.  "Kill Bill" was great.  So cool, so kick ass.
So, I'm a "Sr Member", huh?  In June it's SENIOR DISCOUNT TIME!!!

Holy Michael Hutchence, Batman!

Kwai Chang Caine was so cool.

All jokes aside, this is a sad story whether it was suicide, or an accident.

I think if you want to hang yourself for pleasure or "erotic enhancement,"or whatever it is, you should have a spotter standing by, like when you try to bench press a heavy weight.

I just don't "get" auto-erotic asphixation. I mean, WTF? Isn't normal "self-pleasure" enough?  ???

Apparently not, if dumb-asses are willing to risk their lives even after hearing the stories of other people dying, including celebrities whose demise becomes a sort of perpetual joke once the story comes out.

Usually it's young people you hear about this happening to, and Michael Hutchence was bad enough, but 73 year old David Carradine?  I still hope this part of the story turns out to be untrue.

"A stiff idiot is the worst kind"
Firesign Theater

Chris Miller was at FSU in 1977, guest lecture.  Vaughn Bodé also died this way.  He would do Quaaludes and perform the act.
