Quick thought: stick a "www." prior to your blogspot address and it should then be clickable.

Podcast #8, freshly uploaded to enhance your long weekend!

This time around, we start off on a 60-minute, tribally inspired course with percussion-driven work from Byron Metcalf, Terra Ambient, Rhizomorph, Rapoon, Suspended Memories, David Helpling & Jon Jenkins, Max Corbacho and Chad Hoefler. The beats range from strong to subtle, the feel moving from light to dark and back, the pulse and flow reaching to touch something primal within you.

From there it's off into quiet spaces crafted by Jeff Pearce, Phillip Wilkerson, Radium 88 and David Tagg. With only a few moments left, we turn to Dwight Ashley to end the journey with a characteristically dark and lovely piece from his first CD.

Find it at hypnagoguepodcast.blogspot.com or on iTunes!

And thank you for the comment, Psicodreamics!

Podcast 9 is ready for your enjoyment.

This time through, we begin calmly with long pads from John Broaddus, the sustain one gets from recording in a grain silo courtesy of Silo 10, tonal loneliness from M. Peck and the essence of heaven from Dolmen. Dark drifts from Broken Harbour melt into echoing, horizon’s-edge piano chords from Aloof Proof. A little something different, then—pipe organ music from Mark Thomas in a piece that evokes sensations of Philip Glass and builds to a majestic close. Mike Dickson conjures images of Oldfield in an uptempo, cinematic work to get your blood flowing, and then Stephen Philips returns us quietly to a state of thoughtful meditation.

Available at hypnagoguepodcast.blogspot.com or iTunes.

Podcast 10
« Reply #13 on: October 02, 2009, 09:37:32 PM »
The journey this time begins quietly with work from Chad Kettering and Lucette Bourdin, then grows slowly darker in texture and feel at the hands of Petal and Weird Fields. Justin Vanderberg escorts us back to a place of light and calm. Then, as so often before, the groove takes over starting with Middle Eastern-flavored beats from Ephemeral Mists, a bit of aggressive buzz and flow with Tkatka and electro-percussive rhythms Outer Space Alliance. Transcend with Time helps us wind down and Elissa Luu invites us into her garden to chill. And since there’s no such thing as too much relaxation, this one closes with sixteen minutes of pure drift—and the occasional roll of distant thunder—from Brannan Lane and Robert Carty.

To "celebrate" hitting a whopping 60 subscribers, I've jumped the gun a bit and released #11 a week ahead of schedule. It's also my most laid-back podcast yet, 90 minutes of drift and chill. Justin Vanderberg, Numina, Arcticology, dreamSTATE, Steve Roach, Tim Story, Ganucheau and more.....

Thank your for the comment, Giorgio. I figured that including a full-on pipe organ piece was a bit of a gamble, but it's got such a great ambient feel to it, and it's such a beautiful bit of work, that I just had to put it in there.

Giorgio: That's Alpha Wave Movement's track "Rubicon" from The Regions Between. Love that piece. Has a definite cinematic feel, a sort of 70s-romance tinge to it. That CD is a nice collection of unreleased work from AWM (Gregory Kyryluk). Worth finding and grabbing. It's here: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/alphawave5  (Hope it's okay to post that link here....)

Thanks for listening!
