Hi drone on,
First a very big thank you for your comments about the CD and for your support. I definately think headphones is the best way to listen to it, that way you can hear all the "things" in the Darkness.
I am using a mixture of hardware synths & samplers and software synths & samplers. For this CD I used a 1040 Atari computer with Midex plus, running Cubase 3.1, ( how about that for vintage gear!!!!!), this was also controlling my laptop via a midi to usb interface. On the laptop I was using VST host to load in the vsti's and effects and controlled them via the Atari.
I have now taken the "plunge" and retired the Atari and just use the laptop for recording which will involve recording my hardware stuff into the laptop. So the next CD should be an interesting learning curve for me.
Previously I have had released 3 cassette albums and 2 CDr albums. These were under the name of Dave Thompson and were in the style of general melodic/sequencer based stuff, very different to what I am doing now. The first cassette was released in 1991, the second again in 1991, the third in 1992.
The 2 cdrs were released in 1998 and 2000. These are all long deleted now.
9 years on, a different name, a different style and a new CD. Lots of reasons too numerous to go into here for the big gap, hopefully it won't be 9 years till the next one!!!!!
Once again many thanks for your comments and support, I hope this info has helped a bit.
