To begin, Judd: I have been fighting a cold all week, actually took a sick day Friday. We were complaining last night how hot is was here, upper 80's and humid as a rain forest. I would not last very long were you are. Good luck!
On to the little darlings. Sammy is the cat. We found her in a "to be adopted" cage at a Pets Mart" around 8 years ago. She was 2-3 years old when we got her, already de-clawed on the front paws. She's a real sweetheart (to me), but if you touch her back, watch out. Very punctual, every morning at 4:30, she wakes me up and wants to go outside. Of all of the animals we have had over the 16 years Carol and I have been together, she is the only one that the vets office will not let me "drop off." If she's to be examined, I have to be there. She's got the "skull and crossbones" sticker on her file.
Won Li, on the other hand, is loved by everyone. We got him for our son and ended up rescuing him from our son (Dave had some "issues" which have gotten all better, thank God). I wouldn't say he's a yippy dog at all. Cute, cuddly, smelly, high maintenance (daily eye meds so he doesn't go blind), snores LOUD, mostly mellow. A dog of habit. Wakes up with Carol, sits in her lap in the morning, then transfers to the sofa, sleeps there for a few hours, then goes into my mother in laws room to watch the soap operas at 12:30, takes another nap in her room, then returns to the sofa at 3:30, sleeps a few more hours, diner around 6:30, watches tv sitting with Carol (usually snoring), then it's off to bed. Pugs are described as the ultimate couch potato dog, Won Li is no exception. He loves to chase the cats and goes hysterical at passing cars.
