They say that the quality of a life can be determined by the people touched and saddened when that life has moved on. Judging by this thread, Facebook, and the other internet avenues, Jim touched a lot of folks and not just in the Ambient circle. I'd say he blessed many people during his time which I would think qualifies his life as one well lived.

I just read the sad news about Jim. I did not know him personally. I will miss him and his contributions on this forum. My condolences to his family and his closest friends.

sad to see, people like Jim suddenly fall away from our scene..
he was one of the figures who thoroughly supported the electronic music scene, always with great enthusiasm and a healthy dose of sense of humor.
i'm sure he will be missed by many.
rest in peace dear Jim.

...what can I say but DAMMIT JIM I'm a doctor! Ok, pun done ;-)  I am sad to see that he's gone. Life sucks and then you die as they say but Jim was a beacon here and I'm sure elsewhere. I only knew him here and through our respective projects but he was a kind and caring person. May we all reunite on the other side for one helluva ambient show! Rest in peace buddy!

I really like her description of his studio. Sounds like mine. I always see these pictures of everyone's beautiful, organized studios and feel bad. Mine is cluttered , with stuff stacked everywhere. A real mess. That's why I never post pictures in the studio threads. I'm glad to see that Jim worked somewhat like I do :) .   Harry
